Suddenly, from the very center of the pentacle, a swirling mass of black smoke began to materialize, coalescing into a towering, amorphous form. This entity, devoid of any discernible features, exuded an aura of pure malevolence. Belle's heart raced as she took in the sight before her—this was her first encounter with a demon, a being she had scarcely believed could exist. Paralyzed with fear, she watched as the smoky figure loomed closer, its presence suffocating and terrifying.

Demon stopped tickling the little boy and looked to make sure there was no ooze on him. It was out of habit he did this, for he had not left a bit of ooze on anyone or thing since Evelynn and Gammy had done the spell on him. He looked at his hands and arms, which were black but had not oozing thick stuff falling off all around him. The ooze had solidified and now looked similar to skin only slightly thicker. Which was pretty cool because it seemed that nothing would stab through it. Demon decided he had his own suit of armor in a sense. He wore it all day, every day, and never had to remove it. Surely, a mate would be attracted to that, Demon thought.

The Sorceress convulses, her screams blending with the elemental fury that engulfs her and she topples onto the ground. “No….this cannot….be….” she hisses and her skeletonial body begins to dissolve into a grostique heap until something begins to worm its way out of the dead Sorceress’ mouth. Halflings were born from the union of demons and mortals—creatures that were part human, part demon. These halflings, or Shades as they came to be known, were feared and hated by the mortal clans.

The creature that crashes through the shrine's ceiling is nightmare made flesh. It's massive, easily fifteen feet tall, with skin like molten obsidian and eyes that burn like furnaces. Wings spread from its back, leathery and torn, blocking out what little light remains. This isn't a possessed human. This is a demon in its true form. "Malphas!" Pete's voice is filled with relief and reverence as he struggles to his feet. "Master, you came!" The demon—Malphas—surveys the chamber with those burning eyes, taking in the freed children, the interrupted ritual, Derek's broken form protecting me. His laughter shakes the walls.

I can smell it. "Jessy" Damion called weakly. "I told you not to come. Didn't you get my message? This people ain't normal werewolves. They have real demon in them" I sniffed looking at him. My tears wouldn't stop flowing. This is my worse fear and I can't lose two family in weeks to the same people. My heart can't take it. I might be a warrior, I have weakness and that's my family. "Are you alright?" Damion asked.

A calm voice sounded behind the boy and the boy holding me whipped his head around to the intruder. The demon, Asmodeus or Adrian or whatever his name was stood in the middle of the bathroom. Clothed in a full black suit, his eyes were pitch black and were showing nothing but death. He stared at us and his teeth bared in a dangerous manner. "Who the fuck are you?" The boy said to him. The demon snapped his fingers and the boy in front of me started screaming in a high pitched, painful scream.

Lysan felt a huge lump in his throat and he looked away. "Lysan." Dyleon grabbed his arm. "What does he want?" "He wants—" Lysan swallowed. "He wants me." Dyleon's face went white. "What?" “He said he was going to help me, but on one condition. Me. I'd be at his beck and call when he needs it.” The words tasted bitter in Lysan's mouth—how convenient.
