Desiree shook her head. “That's not why I came here, Liam.” Ignoring her doubts, Desiree walked towards him and cupped his face, planting a kiss on his lips. “Desiree.” He pulled away from her, looking at her in shock. “I want to love again, Liam,” she whispered. “I want to give myself another chance with someone who truly deserves me. And I think that man is you, Liam.” She hadn't known him for long, but he was one of the most wonderful men she'd ever met, and she could genuinely see herself falling in love with him one day.

She said in a low voice, gritting her teeth as her eyes watered. “No, thanks. I’m done fucking you!” She slapped my hand away and pushed me off her. This time, I didn’t resist and stepped back away from her. There was already a distance between us when the door opened, and Dexter was behind it. “What’s going on?” He asked in a cold voice. Desiree’s chest was still heaving, but no more tears were pooling in her eyes. Instead, all I saw was anger in them before she stormed out of the office without glancing at Dexter or me.

Desirey sneers at her, taking a draw on her cigarette. “What makes you think you will be leaving this place?” Desirey asks with a smirk. “I can smell the rot on you, even though you try to hide it with expensive perfume. I bet you die before I do” Desirey explodes rushing at the young female, who does not even flinch. Desirey brings her hand back and strikes the girl over the face, again the girl smiles, shaking her head.

Narrator’s POV. As Desiree ran to the western territory, she hoped to the gods that he was going to show up. She was finally interested in a man and she also hoped that karma would not play harsh tricks on her by making her chase the guy for once in her life. Disappointment was etched on her face when she got there and he was no where to be seen, she could not even catch his scent at all, she had been stood up by a fucking guy!
