Just so you know, I don't dig gold anymore. I go for diamonds now. The kind that shines brighter than your fading social status.”

The stone was tinted slightly in red. “Is this a diamond?” Joshua asked in surprised. “I think it’s a blood diamond. it’s pretty heavy, so it should be worth quite some money. Keep in safe, alright? Don’t mess about in the future anymore. Do you understand?” Ysabelle said. She felt like a teacher giving her student a prize as consolation. “That’s what you wanted to show me?” “Y-yeah!” I nodded and forced a convincing smile on my lips as I looked at him. “I mean, think about it, it is easy and consumes less time. And isn’t the idea of a one-way mirror refracting light to another mirror fascinating?” Help. I don’t know what I am saying. “Not really.” He blatantly answered. “Not exactly worth the effort. All it does is reflect stable light to make a never-ending illusion. Why don’t we-”

They look like they’ve just stepped out of a photo shoot 24/7. I’m nothing compared to them.” Whitney didn’t sound bitter or jealous, just factual. For some reason, that irritated Hollis. “I don’t need to see your family to think you’re cute, Whitney. Everyone’s beautiful in their own way. Besides, being an airbrushed clone sounds like a lot of work. Just to look like everyone else? No way, man.”
