Slightest Noise Wakes Me Up Novels & Stories

I prop myself up with the pillows, arranging them to support my back and neck, and pull the sheet snugly around me, cocooning myself. With a sigh, I reach for my phone and slip on my sleep visor, blocking out any stray beams of light that might disturb my slumber. It's seven am, so the soft hum of the house surrounds me. Outside, I can hear the faint rustle of leaves in the gentle breeze, the maids aren't in, so I assume they are either in the kitchen or around the compound. The noises they make while cleaning up the house reaches my ear as a soothing lullaby that immediately carries me off to sleep. I've always had a thing for those unintentional noise people make early in the morning.

The sound of glass shattering wakes me from my deep sleep with a jolt. I sit up in bed, my eyes alert and frantic as I look around the room. I reach across the bed, pulling my phone out from under my pillow and see that it’s two in the morning. I unlock my phone and type 911 into the keypad as I carefully get out of bed and make my way to the door.

At some point during the book and the wine, I fell asleep with the light still on. I don’t know how long I’ve been in bed, but I do know one thing: the sound that wakes me immediately makes me tense and jump out of bed.

We mostly eat stuff from our respective workplaces, but we do try to smuggle in some cool stuff and enjoy ourselves once in a while. After making the pasta, I went back to my room and took a shower, jumped on my bed, and for some minutes dozed off. "Tomorrow is another day" I murmured to myself before falling asleep. Sunlight seeping through the glass window of my room woke me up, the sun poured through my window as the light of dawn seeped into my room. The level of noise pollution in the mornings is less compared to the other times of the day. The sky was bright and the birds were chirping and enjoying the cool breeze.

My alarm chimed at exactly five a.m the next morning, and I sighed loudly as my eyes blinked open and adjusted to the dim light. Tiredly, I rubbed my aching forehead and remembered when the owner of the place had informed us that the lights automatically lowered in intensity at midnight. I started to get up when my ears picked up a soft whirring noise above me, and curiously I raised my head to look, but it instantly made contact with Cole's chin. He groaned loudly but just turned his head to the other side and continued to snore, while I gazed at our positions in surprise.

DAMIEN I wake up to the sound of waves crashing against the shore, a rhythmic reminder of the paradise we’re supposed to enjoy. My eyes flutter open, and for a moment, I’m disoriented. The room is filled with light, the curtains billowing softly in the breeze. I sit up, feeling the weight of the previous night’s decisions settle heavily on my chest. The bed is empty beside me, as it has been for the past few nights.

ISLA A very loud and irritating sound woke me up the next morning as early as seven. It was so distracting that I can no longer go back to sleep. So, even if I'm half awake, I stepped out of my room and just like a spy, I traced where that freakin’ sound came from. And when I finally discerned the bedroom, I madly approached it before knocking loudly on the door. "CAN YOU TURN YOUR ALARM OFF?! IT SOUNDS LIKE A DYING CAT!!!"

As my ears prick to hear even the smallest noise, I hear his door open. The sound has me scooting to sit up on the edge of the bed as I listen for more. A few moments later the shower can be heard running. After just a few minutes I find the sound soothing and lay back down. Before I know it my eyes have closed and I am unable to stay awake a moment more.

I was in Ace's shirt and a pair of his shorts. I could hear the light footsteps approaching the bedroom door from the corridor. How did I even wake up from them , they're so light that I could barely hear them . Then I realised that I had just woken from a nightmare, the footsteps were just a coincidence. There was only one person by sound of the footsteps .

CHAPTER 33 [ A Fever Dream ] ~TRAVIS~ The noise that woke me sounded like a mixture of human sobs and the cry of a wounded animal. My mornings were usually quiet and so the noise wasn’t only strange, it also made my head throb. As my consciousness grew clearer, so did the sound. As much as I wanted to ignore it, it became impossible with every passing second. So, I cracked my eyes open to see ‘what’ was making that noise.
