The Mate He Rejected
Bronson Adolph Riordan stepped out into the torchlight.
A collective, horrified gasp ripped through the gathered pack. Bronson had removed his expensive suit jacket. His white shirt was torn and heavily stained with dark soot, dirt, and fake blood. He had smeared a line of grease across his forehead, and he walked with a slight, entirely manufactured limp. He looked exactly like a man who had just barely survived a massive catastrophe.
He played the part with flawless, sickening perfection.
"Beta!" one of the remaining elders cried out, rushing forward. "What happened? Where is the Alpha? Where is the convoy?"
