I try to focus on taking deep breaths to stop the misery from overflowing, trying to control my emotions, but they weren’t willing to be tamed. “I don’t think we should be here,” Theo voices after a moment, no doubt feeling a seed of anger begin to grow through my veins. I curl my toes in my shoes, a failed effort at cementing myself in this position. It’s a failed effort to control myself as the torment bloomed, my emotions mixing to trigger a deadly effect, threatening the lives of everyone here. “He’ll be here soon,” I reply through my labored breaths. “Just a few more minutes.”

She tried to make as much sense as she could about the situation. And finally, she nodded. She turned to Grey. "Run along, find my friends and tell them to forget about it." She ordered. Grey quickly nodded and took off. Noelle mind-linked Ezekiel again. "You can catch a break. Doom is dead." She told him. "You killed Doom?" Noelle felt the surprise in his voice, and the relief that washed over him through the mind link. "No. The rogue king killed Doom." "Who?" Noelle rolled her eyes. Did he have wolf-hearing problem or attention deficiency or whatever it was that caused wolves to not hear mind-links?

Or maybe it was because the love was still there. My silence finally made her sense that something was wrong. "Babe, what's wrong?" she asked again. "You seem unhappy." I didn't answer. I simply handed her my phone. On the screen was the pregnancy report and Leo's caption beneath it. Her eyes fell on the display, and the smile on her face froze instantly, replaced by stunned silence and unease. Then, as if she'd quickly pieced together an excuse, she spoke carefully. "Leo has always wanted a child of his own. You know that his wife never gave him any children before she passed away. He said he doesn't want to remarry in this lifetime, and randomly impregnating someone would be illegal.

I didn’t want to ruin the mood, but I knew he was withholding information from me. “Once we mark each other, there is no possibility for a second-chance mate.” As if reading the confusion on my face he continued. “If your mate dies before you mark them, the Moon Goddess grants you a second-chance mate. But if you mark your mate, then you are committed to them and only them.” He brushes a hair out of my face, but I push him back, sitting up. “Do you think that's a good idea though? Maybe we should see if I even make it through the full moon.”

Many powerhouses gathered in the Doom Race’s main hall. Youri sat in the highest seat with a gloomy expression. He raised his hand and slammed the table in front of him. The table made of special materials instantly fell apart. “Damn it! I’m fucking pissed!” Youri’s wrinkled face was furious. The Dooms were so close to conquering the Greater Realms and creating a new prosperous world under their reign. However, their plans had fallen short. The powerhouses in the main hall remained silent.

“I no longer want him, you can have him all to yourself. The both of you look good together and I admire you. let me go, and I will leave your pack, you will never have to see me, and you will never have to hear from me. Please, I beg of you” Somewhere in my heart, I hoped that they would listen to my voice for pardon, but then, when Avery burst into laughter and Alphonso joined her, I realized the two of them had passed redemption and they were never going to let me go. I have no idea what they have planned, all I knew was that my doom was first approaching and I was soon going to cease from existing in this pack, and in this region or perhaps this world.
