I let out a cold laugh and lowered my voice. "Yes, I did. Even after being reborn, you're still just as self-righteous and arrogant as you were in our previous life." I used to be the one doting on him, taking care of every little detail after we got married, and in all 40 years of our marriage, I never once confronted him. His eyes fell on the marriage agreement still lying on the table. Suddenly, he remembered the promise we'd made as children. Back then, the agreement had his name written alongside mine. But now, my name had been changed to Catherine's. It felt like a weight pressing hard on his chest, choking him into silence.

Just before I lost consciousness, I heard Leonard speak again. “Don’t blame me, I’ll make sure to inherit everything you own,” he added lightly. “As your husband.” The world went black, and my body jolted. A sharp breath tore from my chest as my vision swam, light and color bleeding into one another. For a moment, I couldn’t tell if I was still dying or if this was simply what was supposed to happen after dying.

“That was more than a breakup.” Damon rolled his eyes. “Oh come on. That wasn’t even the first time I let you spend time with another man.” Rebecca’s stomach twisted. “Did we break up then?” Damon continued. “No. This time it’s just… longer.” Rebecca’s voice turned icy. “Well like I said, I’m not interested. I’m happy here. I’m very much in love with my husband, and he loves me too.” Damon snorted. “Sure.” He leaned closer.

A spark of hope flashed in his eyes, then my following line doused it. "We never had a child. That's the luckiest thing that has ever happened to me. Please stop bothering me." Finn's parents arrived just then and took him back to the ward. They apologized over and over. "We're sorry. Finn is sick and continues to do things that trouble you. Sylvia, tell me honestly, is there really no chance for you two?" His parents had treated me well in my previous life. I looked at them and said seriously, "Mr. and Mrs. Dawson, I'm married now. I have a husband and a son. Even if I weren't married, I still wouldn't be with Finn. I don't love him anymore."

Unfortunately, Jennifer ignores her and huffs, “Who the heck are you? You don’t have any say in this matter. It is only between my future husband and me. Now, shut up and leave us alone.” My breath hitches. She didn’t just say what I think she said. Dotty takes a deep breath while she clinches her fists. I instinctively take a step back out of the way and bump into my husband’s firm chest. With steam rolling off her, Dotty spouts fire along with her words. “Now, get this clear, you witch. Connor is my brother-in-law and is married to my sister. You are too late. He is already taken.”
