"Eli," I gently approached my daughter who was sitting in a daze on her bed. "Time to see your doctor, Eli." I felt a pain in my heart when Eli didn't even look at me. My little girl was drowned in her thoughts again. "Elisha, Dr. Railey is already waiting for you." I sat beside her and kissed her head. "I don't need a doctor, daddy," she said in a weak voice. "I'm not sick." "He will just talk to you, Eli." Dr. Railey was Eli's therapist. For a week now, they have been doing sessions in an attempt to make Eli the way she used to. Eli kept talking while David looked around the room. He didn't listen to half of what Eli said. However, he wasn't very free because Eli was still in the room and he can't look through the drawer in the workspace. Hence he turned to Eli. “Wait, I think I have an extra copy of the book you are talking about. I bought extra because I felt some victims might need them to heal a part of themselves. Since you like it so much, go in my car and bring it.” David took out his car from his back pocket.

It looked like he was about to suffocate. "Dad!" "Grandpa! What's wrong?" The panicked David turned to Joshua and asked, "W-What's going on, Dr. Sutton?" Joshua's mind went blank. He looked just as stupefied. "That's impossible! How could this be?" Much to his disbelief, he realized that Eli's symptoms were exactly as Damian had predicted earlier!

“You used Elena.” “No,” David said. He crossed the room in two steps. Stopped in front of me. Close enough that I could see the exhaustion in his eyes. “I protected you. I protected her. Eleven years ago Robert wanted me to marry Elise. I refused. So my father wrote Clause Seven. He said if I ever met a woman I trusted enough to have a child with, that child would end the war.” I shook my head. “We don’t have a child together.”

She ran back to her mother. Elena approached. “You look different. More solid. Less like ghosts.” “We are more solid. The old wolf helped. Gave us pieces of ourselves back. But we also lost things. Remembered things. Understood things we wish we could forget.” I stood. “Is David here? The researcher?” “In the library. He has been working non-stop. Barely sleeps. Barely eats. Just studies and writes and calculates.” Elena looked worried. “He is obsessed. I think the pressure is breaking him.”

Adult Anna covered her mouth. Young Elena continued: “And I kept telling her she would.” Current Elena's eyes filled. “But I didn't.” Young Elena looked at her. “No.” The answer contained no cruelty. That made it worse.
