The old, weak male made some incoherent noise as if he wanted to talk, but no words made it out. "That's right. You can't talk. Do you know what he told me before he left?” I stayed silent, clutching the towel tighter. Draco’s jaw ticked. “He said if I can’t control you, I don’t deserve to lead this family.” He leaned down slowly, his breath hot against my face. “My father’s faith in me is shaking. My future is on the edge. My birthday, my celebration...was hijacked by a drunk and a whore in diamonds.”

He saw it all unravel: his parents' tragic deaths in a car accident, leaving him orphaned at such a young age.
