One day, he beat me within an inch of my life and I knew I had to run away. Because it isn't just me anymore. I have my three-month-old baby to think of. I ran into the streets without any money or any means. Going home wasn't an option because I know my parents would take me right back to him.

Lily’s listening ear and supportive embrace were the perfect starting point. I took a deep breath,my eyes welling up with tears. "Lily, my marriage...it's a mess. It was arranged, and I thought it was the right thing to do, but...I don't know, it feels so empty. We're just going through the motions, living separate lives under the same roof."
