Out of nowhere a group of vampires start chasing her and she turns down a dark alley. She screams for help and thankful for my vampire speed, I was there in a flash. I blocked her from the vampires and quickly take them all out, draining them of their blood. I turn to her in my vampire form and she screams. I let out a breath and feel my fangs retract and shift back to my human form. She looks at me as if she were looking at her favorite celebrity.

"Get them to the ravine!" Shadows were pouring into the main entrance. Massive, hulking shapes with eyes like burning coals. Thorne's vanguard. A wolf the size of a bear, with grey matted fur, lunged at a young male near the fire pit. Jaws snapped, and blood sprayed across the stone floor. I didn't think. I shifted. I laugh at my little Wizard of Oz reference. “Your missing dragon shifters, but yes, they all exist,” replied Cece. Wait, tiger and dragon shifters exist. That is so cool. I love tigers, and dragons are badass. Or at least in my mind, they are. So, in werewolf books I used to read, they are strong, fast, and have super healing powers. Can we do that?

I bite my bottom lip shaking my head, “no, she’s a dragon, a golden dragon, she’s rare and will only shift when it’s dire.” Her eyes go wide, “dire?” She pushes off me, “Christov, what would be dire for her to shift in front of so many people?”

When I woke again, I was lying in Fenrir’s den. The wolf shifter was beside me, awkwardly trying to untie the cords around my cloak. The moment he saw my eyes open, he covered my mouth with his hand and warned me in a low voice. “Human, don’t scream. Give me an heir, and I won’t hurt you.” I widened my eyes innocently. Then I brushed my lips lightly against his palm. Fenrir froze. A flush spread across his face, and he jerked his hand back as if he had been burned.
