They hadn’t come out of the fight with Harlan unscathed, that much was clear. I looked between them, my heart clenching at the sight of them both so battered and bruised. Ryder’s nose had a nasty scratch across it, maybe not deep enough to warrant stitches, but I imagined it must have been pretty painful. And Tyler’s shoulder had a bite on it that seemed to have bruised instantaneously. “Is Harlan...” I began, but I couldn’t finish the sentence. I wasn’t sure I wanted the answer. The twins exchanged a nervous glance, a silent conversation passing between them. Then Tyler spoke, his voice low and urgent. “You need to shift. We need to go.”

I'll send it." Henry hung up the phone call, then sent a photo of Alan and Alana with Amanda. Henry smiled after sending a photo of his children to his father. "He must be curious about the truth about the twins," he muttered when his father contacted him again. Henry let the call from his father make the man even more curious.

He asked, smiling at them. Her sons looked to her, silently checking to see if they could really trust this man. She gave them a weak smile and that was all the assurance they needed.
