The grass swayed from side to side with a wind that was so real I could almost feel it. There were times that I could even trick myself into feeling it, and with the boost on my side tonight I was sure I could probably do just that. There was a river that ran about a hundred yards from me, and beyond that was the darkness of space, but filled with an infinite amount stars. It wasn't night time, but just over the horizon my dream world ended and the emptiness of space began.

“As long as the First Dreamer continued imagining, new realities continued forming.” “The number of possibilities became infinite.” “The barriers between them began to weaken.” Ama suddenly understood. “If they all touched…” Orion nodded. “Everything would become everything else.” No beginnings. Maybe less.” The Fold shuddered. Entire floating landmasses began drifting closer, drawn toward Elyndra like iron to a magnet. Lyra grabbed her shoulders. “There has to be another way.” Elyndra met her gaze, raw and honest. “There isn’t. That’s the truth the Dream is built on, endings.”

And I had been foolish enough to feel guilty, desperate to cure his legs as if I owed him everything. The tears I shed now washed away the last fragments of attachment I had for him.
