I’m the storm you didn’t see coming. I took the long path home, avoiding the town’s main road like it was cursed. My legs carried me on autopilot, weaving through trees and gravel and silence. The driver stepped on the gas, and we sped off to my mom's place. After a 40-minute drive, we finally arrived home. I paid the driver, and stepped out of the taxi. My hands trembled as I walked towards the door. I took a deep breath, pushed it open, and entered. Inside, I saw my sister Sally sitting on the sofa, watching TV. She turned to me, and I quickly approached her. "What's going on? Why does Mom want to see me?" I asked. Sally sighed, her hand gestures quick and fierce that if I blinked, I could miss the slightest detail. "Because I reported you to Mom."

I stop a cab; and I got in; I ask the driver to take me back home; the man nods, and he obediently gave me a smooth ride back to the house… At the front door; I saw mom talking with Mr. Daniel; they seem to be having a lot to talk about; but they stopped to say anything; when mom saw me coming their way with my bag, hung behind my back… Mom left Mr. Daniel; she held my shoulder with both of her hand, and brought me in for a hug; a tight one… I looked at Mr. Daniel; confused; as fuck; I pull away from her; I ask Mom, if everything was alright, at first, I notice how gloomier, her eyes got; but she cheered up; she brought out my hand, and pushed me towards to the direction of the kitchen…

"Thank you, Mom. This will make things easier for me." With her support, we made our way to the car, her steady hand guiding me. I eased into the passenger seat, feeling a mix of relief and frustration. It frustrated me that my mobility had become limited, but Mom's presence provided solace. As we left the peaceful woods behind and headed towards town to gather supplies, a subtle churning of anticipation fluttered within me. I observed the passing landscapes from the window, lost in my thoughts.
