Letters from the future
“You’re not real.”
“I’m what’s left.”
It stepped closer, and the air around it crackled.
“Every time you ignore the letter, every time you run, you leave a version behind. We’re the echoes, Ava. We’re the ones who didn’t listen.”
The static rose until it vibrated in her bones. Ava pressed her hands over her ears, but the voice came from inside her head.
“Find the beginning,” it whispered. “End the loop.”
The ground trembled. The world shimmered, colors bleeding together.
