SELFISH AMBITION

SELFISH AMBITION

I just didn’t realize how much she was holding in and that’s what I will regret forever. I had no idea that Margo was pregnant when she thought I was cheating. Nobody knew until after she jumped…… That damn cliff still haunts me. It’s Alexander’s fault. He was always jealous of me. Jealous of the man I had become. Jealous that his mom adored me. Jealous of my wife. I always knew he had an eye for Margo, but that was lust not love. His mother knew that too. While growing up his mother always called him out on his neurotic tendencies for attention. It broke her heart to see how her son was and not be able to stop it. It’s not everyday you have a labeled sociopath in the family but here we are.

Disgraceful

He thought for a moment before continuing. "Their conceit overwhelms me. They think and act like they are the most perfect, dignified, flawless persons in the world. I can't stand such hypocrisy any longer." "One could hardly blame them for that. Your family has an impeccable reputation for hundred of years. Thus far they has never been touched by any scandal or indignity. No wonder they despise me. I was born from misdeed, I live in disgrace, and now I've been soaking in scandal." He squeezed her hand gently in his hold.

Saved by the Archangel

Saved by the Archangel

Octavius remained indifferent, but Hyenna decided that she would not be able to keep her mouth closed for even a second, and that if at some point in her day she could not argue against someone else, she would not be happy. I prepared myself for whatever her attack, very aware that she would not risk contradicting me or trying to inferiorize me in front of everyone. Hyenna could be many things, but it wasn't enough to want to start a brigade that knew it would gain nothing more than new enemies. Even Tennebris seemed to get excited, preparing for the moment when Hyenna would start talking. “Majesty... I believe there may be some mistake, "she started, getting stuck like a galö of fight. "I b

DEATH REINCARNATE

DEATH REINCARNATE

Somehow muffled by the distant strong wind that started to blow outside, and the sudden dark clouds from above that’s warning every one of the inevitable dangers, yet only existed to the prominent few. “The sin that is viewed as the rebellion against God, where it presumes to possess excellence and glory that belong to God alone. Wherein the danger of which is that most people are unaware of their pridefulness.” Seeking for that sin, it continues. “Greed.” Snapping her finger as the numbing and chomping noises of people eating like there is no tomorrow echo to the entire room.

Sold to my ruthless mate

Sold to my ruthless mate

Elena stood to her feet as the man in her sight approached her slowly with his hands at his back. “I heard you disrespected the Alpha, You didn’t think of a perfect day to disrespect the leader of this honorable pack but chose the day we celebrate our moon goddess? It is such a pity that he feeds you and clothes you but yet this is how you repay him” One particular thing Elena detested about this man was his hypocrisy. He finds a way to obtain favour in the sight of the Alpha by doing things that would please him.

Alpha's Caged Mate

Alpha's Caged Mate

But this celebration of each Pack boasting their wealth or hiding their shame would be different this year. Then again, what aspect of August’s worldview had failed to take him by surprise, the goddess had tested him lately, and he knew that he’d been found wanting. Of the numerous recent blows to his ego, August found among the most shameful of his own misgivings was just how…inflexible he’d become over the years. And just how much that hubris had cost, not just him, but those he held most dear.

His Epitome Of Beauty

His Epitome Of Beauty

“Ms. Braganza, I’m sure you wouldn’t looked bad with me as your husband. And one more thing, the money I’m offering to you, it would be a big help for someone like you.” I faced him, with an emotionless expression on my face. I can’t take his arrogance anymore. His last sentence was all I can think of as of this moment. “And what exactly do you mean by ‘someone like me,’ Mr. Herrera?” He smirked before answering. “Someone below my level.” “Excuse me? How about your bestfriend, huh? Do you think of him as someone below your level too? Well I hope not. Because Elijah’s feelings gonna be hurt when he heard about this.”

Demon's Evolution

Demon's Evolution

The party continued for some time, but I also learned some things. It seemed Ethan's nature was not one of malevolence, but rather a tragic flaw that had been the source of his downfall. Rather than being an inherently evil scion of the nobility, Ethan appeared to be afflicted with a psychological condition that caused him to lose control of his faculties in certain situations.

HIS IMMENSE DESIRES

HIS IMMENSE DESIRES

She opened those pretty eyes of her, and smiled sadly. I quickly carried her up and laid her on the bed, I was so tempted to ravish her by taking those lush nipples of hers into my mouth and suck her hard, while my hand went to her wet core to finger her, and show her, how she's meant to be treated, like a woman rather than a slut. She looked at me with those hazel innocent like eyes of hers, my cock immediately reacted by twitching, right then I was so embarrassed at myself for having such wicked and carnal thought towards her, when she was just roughly used by my best friend.

Her Honour for an Heir

he whispered over a glass of port, as though my silence rendered me deaf. "You don't say," Edmund replied sipping from his glass. "The daughter is unattached?" "She is," Father Williams replied, helping himself to a huge slab of cheese alongside his port. "Well then, I confess I am more forgiving than perhaps the Bible would allow. A man has an innate drive, impulses to seek and find. These can be focused towards women in error. But it is part of our construction. It is why we are the superior beings on God's earth. We shape the globe via our driven nature. A woman's disloyalty to her husband is a true sin indeed." and our eyes connected over the large dining table. Flashing green and fuelle

This was much different from most other stories I’ve read, but it most certainly was no less. This was a phenomenal read from beginning to end, absolutely kept me on my toes & binge reading as quickly as I could. As always, absolutely amazing job author - a must read! :)

A well written book with an engaging storyline that didn’t disappoint. It had a perfect ending and the book finished in a timely manner rather than endlessly dragging on. First time I’ve written a review because it was that good. I hope the author writes another book in this genre.

Frequently Asked Questions

So I saw some debate online about whether 'Elegant Hubris' is a standalone novel or part of a series, and I've been digging into it. I own a paperback copy, and as far as the physical book goes, there's no 'Book One' or anything similar on the cover or spine. It tells a complete story with a definite, closed ending that ties up its main character's arc—no cliffhanger waiting for a sequel. I know some readers felt a few side characters could've had more development, but that's more about the novel's scope than an unfinished plot.

That said, the author, L.M. Vorne, has a very distinct fictional universe they've built across several other books. 'Elegant Hubris' shares a setting with novels like 'The Gilded Cage' and 'Vermilion Veils,' but it's not a direct sequel or prequel. You'll recognize the same city, maybe a passing mention of an event from another book, but the protagonist and core conflict are entirely new. It's more of a standalone within a shared world, like some of Tamora Pierce's Tortall books or how certain Stephen King stories connect. You can absolutely read it on its own without feeling lost.

I think the confusion comes because some online retailers list it under 'The Vorne Collection' or similar as a marketing bundle, not a serialized narrative. So if you're looking for a self-contained read, you're safe. If you fall in love with the world, there are other books set in it to explore next.
