“But I'm afraid I'll have to pass. I'm heading back tonight anyway.”
“Oh? Missing someone already?” his grin widened.
"Really,Leonard." My brows arched.
He slowly raised his hands in surrender, still amused. “I even heard she's your brother's wife.”
The words struck harder than I had expected.
“Yeah,” I said quietly. “Unfortunately.”
The humour suddenly drained out from the room, as it got replaced by something unspoken. Ezra slowly studied me, like he was trying to put the pieces together.
“Well,” He said eventually, clapping his hand together, “Safe travels”
