He stood and took her hand in his. “Get up,” Finn said. He helped her up off the bed and guided her to an oval mirror in the corner.
Pushing her hair to the side so he could kiss her neck, he stood behind her and put his hands on her hips. She looked at her reflection. Tall and slender, she had the body of a dancer. Narrow hips and hardly any breasts at all, her body was corded with muscle and her feet were less than beautiful from years of punishing treatment. Her toenails were damaged, toes misdirected. Yes, they were ugly feet and she loved them. Pearl considered every flaw a mark of successful dream realization.
