BELLA'S POV I hated the smell of this place. Randall’s office reeked of cigars, whiskey, and old money — the kind of stench that clung to men who thought they owned the world. The Empire Prince building towered over the city like his personal kingdom. On paper, it was all legitimate business — luxury investments, real estate, entertainment. But underneath that glittering name, everyone knew what really kept the empire alive: gambling clubs, drugs, escorts, the kind of darkness that thrived behind velvet curtains.

After a drive of half-hour - Brianna and Selene arrived at Imperial Inc. Brianna opened her mouth in 'O' shape. She was amazed by the tall and proud building standing opposite her. A small gasp of awe left her mouth as she had never seen Imperial Inc other than in photos. Imperial Inc was known as the heart of the country, and the person who ruled it was the business king, no one can defy him unless they want to die. "Gosh! Sele this is fucking amazing." Brianna yelled in excitement. "The higher this building is, the more secrets it has beneath it." Selene subconsciously murmured, gaining the attention of Brianna.

There was a king-sized bed with a custom black sheet, matching the black satin embedded headboard and the pitch black wallpaper, with the painting of a crown in the middle and the name KING boldly written under the painting. Probably, it was his room....but if it was, why then did he direct me here? Keira couldn't help but beat herself to the question while feeding her eyes with a tour around the room. There was a black shelf on the other side of the bed and it had tons of books neatly arranged in each of its cubicles. "He must love reading to have these books on his shelf." She aired her thoughts out loud, walking towards the shelf, catching sight of a familiar book cover.

When I pulled up to the Grigs Empire building, the magnitude of its presence nearly sucked the air from my lungs. The building loomed ahead like a fortress of glass and steel, fifty floors of power, arrogance, and money. Its sleek, reflective surface caught the early afternoon sun, scattering golden light across the pavement. A massive emblem, a stylized 'G' coiled around a serpent, was etched in silver on the high-arched entrance, announcing to anyone within eyeshot who ran this empire.

The Montrose empire—my empire was supposed to be my legacy. Every corner of this towering building, every polished surface, every intricately designed wall spoke of the power and dominance I had fought for. But as I sat alone in my office, surrounded by the cold, sterile environment I had crafted with my own hands, I could feel it — an emptiness. The empire, once a symbol of strength, had become my prison.

If she could be surrounded by books all day every day, she would. June spent so much time around the books that she was one of the smartest people Emily had ever met. Over the years she had probably read every single book in that place. And it was a huge building with thousands of books. She had read all the medical and scientific books, every nonfiction book they had, and encyclopedias. She also read all the history books. Not just the human history, but the werewolf history too. But even June would say the smutty books were still her favorite.

The girl pulls her hand away in disgust and pushes me aside as she walks away. I stand there stunned, "Don't worry, she's such a prude." I heard the other girls say. I turn to them and introduce myself, "My name is Prince Alex Windsor, the heir to the throne." "Wooww," one of them says. "An actual prince?" Another asks and I nod. "Anyways this ball seems boring, I'd love to take you four on a private tour of the palace." I say to them. They all nod eagerly as they followed me out of the ballroom.

But the man wouldn’t let up. I was back in my bedroom. We’re leaving tomorrow morning. I needed an ice bath to soothe my aching muscles. When I bought this building, I made sure to add a gym, a sauna and room for my recovery. An ice bath was exactly what I needed. Even though my body was killing me. All I could think about was her, the message she sent when I was on my way back from my interview. I have to pack for the next game, I needed to get my body ready for the next game and all I could think about was her...

Together, they were learning how to navigate the chaos, how to fight back against the forces that threatened to tear them apart. And with each passing day, Kael realized something else: the empire was not just the land they ruled.
