“More than sound like what?”
“Like influence,” I say. “Like pressure. Like dreams that are not yours. Like thoughts that slide in sideways and feel like your own until you realize you’re standing somewhere you never meant to go.”
Her mouth tightens, and I see her wolf behind her eyes, pacing.
“You’re saying this thing can control them,” she says, voice flat, and that flatness is a warning.
“It can,” I say. “Not forever. Not without a stronger source. But it can nudge. It can seed. It can keep a connection open until they want to use it for something bigger.”
