Null stepped forward, awe and fear flickering in his eyes. “This was where Eve created everything,” he whispered. “The origin of Null and the others.”
Damien ran a hand along the table. “She kept it hidden for a reason.”
Aurora opened one of the canisters, revealing a stack of clear slides—brain tissue samples, each labeled with dates and names.
“Look,” she said, shining her flashlight on one label: “Subject E-AVE – Prototype.” Beneath it: “Neural Firewall – Complete.”
