"Emily, I’m here for my check-up." The familiar voice gave me a jolt. Looking around, a bold thought hit me. Had I been reborn? Mechanically, I took the paperwork from Mira’s hand. My eyes scanned the form for the tests listed, the date, and the truth sank in. Yes, I had been given a second chance. I looked at Mira’s innocent face and felt the urge to tear her apart.
