Diva’s POV The night was cold, the forest darker than I remembered. But my blood burned with anger. We had lost everything. Our pack. Our home. Our power. And it was my fault. I was about to take another sip of my wine when I heard a knock on the door. "Shasta?..." "Damn..." I wipe my tears away and look at myself on the mirror. I look so terrific. So unrecognizable. "Xaliah Shasta!... Are you in there?..." Rhyiuz's voice thundered for the second time. I quickly put some foundation and concealer to hide the evidence of my tears and also covered the hickeys all over my neck. Rhyiuz is still at the door cause I can hear him trying to open the door.

I'd half hoped he'd at the very least call to yell about his painting, but he couldn't even spare me his anger. ​But Wolveshedge took my mind off of all that. It was like a different world where everyone was happy all the goddamn time; I was half content with it and half disgusted with the level of joy in the atmosphere.
