Don't look at other girls’” I picked up from where he ended, “‘I can take other women, but you can't be seen with any other man.’”

In fact, there was a whole shelf dedicated to romance, so someone in the house must be a fan. Not Xavier though, she couldn’t see him reading anything so frivolous. Perhaps something dry about the history of werewolves or war amongst the paranormal race… that seemed more his style, not romance even if he did totally fit the mold of asshole-alpha-male-who-needed-bringing-down-a-peg-or-two perfectly. Her lips quirked as she headed for the door. There was that word again. Asshole. It just seemed to slide so perfectly through the mind when she thought of him. Unfortunately, her over-active imagination didn’t stop there.

Is she… Xander smirked at me, “Yes, that is your work nemesis, Tania.” I instantly questioned, “What is she doing here?” Xander mischievously ran his finger across my face to push the strand of my hair, as he said, “She is a part of punishment awarded to you.” I furrowed my brows in confusion and what Xander told me next shook me completely. “Tonight, I am not having sex with you but your work nemesis, my dear bad wife.” He said with a kinky look.

The tension between them was electric, every interaction loaded with subtext and unspoken desire. I read one chapter. Then another. Then another. Time disappeared. The world outside the bedroom faded. There was only the story, the characters, the way Lana Steele made me forget I was sitting alone in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, pretending to be engaged to a woman who hated me. When I reached the end, I left a comment which was rare for me. "Please upload more chapters soon. This is incredible." Then I noticed the clock. 5:03 AM. I'd read for hours without realizing it.

"I can't believe I've been living with my favourite writer. I'm your number one fan, you know?" I roll my eyes. "Are you just saying that to flatter me?" He shakes his head. "No, I'm not. I've been reading your w*****n since forever. Your books got me into it, you know?" I lift my brows. "Really?" "I've never been a fan of reading, not even comics, but while going through our new app that day, I stumbled on your w*****n. Your account was new then. I don't know what prompted me, but I started reading and soon got invested. It helped me during the dark days."

“But , but I am not slee – “ I am disturbed as my mouth opens up and releases a deep yawn. I hear his angelic voice chuckle , his chest vibrating. “I will wake you up when we get to your father’s kingdom…” I feel the warmth of his chest engulf me in a space of peace and absolute comfort – with in no time I felt my eyes shut softly , and I started to love deeper and deeper into a slumber while listening to the gentle beats of Xavier’s heart.
