“Sure about that? You look like–” “Shut it! We're late for prom!” I blurt out, glaring daggers at him. The atmosphere feels tight with tension, and every breath I take makes me feel like I'm suffocating despite being in such a big room. I bite hard on my lips, trying to ignore the pooling feeling of anxiety growing within me. Everything about my fantasy is so wrong. Xander's my best friend, and he even has a girlfriend–well, an almost girlfriend. We even made a promise to never see each other romantically, but since I discovered my addiction to erotic books, I've found myself blurring the lines between platonic and romantic friendship.

“Testing me? Bullshit. You were dying for me to close that inch. I saw the way your lips parted, the way your thighs pressed together like you were already wet just from me breathing on you. Tell me I’m wrong, Riley. Tell me your panties aren’t soaked right now thinking about what would’ve happened if that elevator hadn’t dinged.” She swallowed hard, cheeks burning. “They’re not. And even if they were, it wouldn’t be because of you. It would be because I’m furious that you still think you can talk to me like I’m one of your little fan girls who drops to their knees the second you flash that smile. Newsflash, Xander: I don’t drop for anyone. Especially not you.”

“But , but I am not slee – “ I am disturbed as my mouth opens up and releases a deep yawn. I hear his angelic voice chuckle , his chest vibrating. “I will wake you up when we get to your father’s kingdom…” I feel the warmth of his chest engulf me in a space of peace and absolute comfort – with in no time I felt my eyes shut softly , and I started to love deeper and deeper into a slumber while listening to the gentle beats of Xavier’s heart. My legs felt weak from the incident earlier and the tightness in my chest was still present. But I ignored that, tossed myself on the bed and opened my phone. Being lonely and bullied for a long time, reading novels was a big part of my life and my only comfort. I need some joy to counteract today’s disaster. A small smile finally spread my lips apart when I noticed my favorite book has a new update. The book’s name is 'When Alpha Meets Omega'. It’s a romance novel of how Omega Anna met and fell in love with Alpha Xander. As I delved deeper into the chapter, my smile slipped off. I figured out that Alpha Xander was deceived by Lisa again. Don't get me wrong i loved it but still i can tell that he wants us to mate. Right now we are in his office, he is working on some papers while i am reading a rommance novel i found on his book shelf. Which is a suprise since i never thought he would read such books but it could also be Beta Ryans. "What about my Betta has you so happy" he says suddenly bringing me out of my thoughts. "Nothing" I say too quickly blushing in the process. The fact that Xavier can always read my thoughts is something I am constantly forgetting and to be honest i don't understand hoow since we are not yet mated.

“Especially romance novels. There's something magical about getting lost in a story and experiencing all the emotions along with the characters.” Alpha Xander chuckles, his eyes sparkling with amusement. “I never would have pegged you for a romance novel enthusiast,” he admits, his tone teasing. “But I can see the appeal. There's a certain charm to stories about love and passion.” I nod in agreement, feeling a sense of camaraderie with him as we bond over our shared love of literature. “Exactly,” I say, my voice animated. “And besides reading, I also enjoy spending time outdoors, going for hikes, and exploring the beauty of nature.”
