Dots. Glee started for the bookcase but turned back. There it was, on her computer hutch beside the keyboard, the thin edition Katie had brought to her. She looked down at the small flimsy book with its cracked spine and gold lettering—From Wealth to Poverty by Rev. Austin Potter—and suddenly recognized it as a turn-of-the-century collection of daily temperance sermons and personal anecdotes she had bought at a rummage sale once, written by some long-dead Methodist minister. Stories she used to read Brookie when she was a little girl growing up inside this house. But what was the passage again? The page number and chapter? Katelyn had mentioned them, and now Glee couldn’t recall.

A woman with a large build was clearing up a mess of books that Keke was responsible for. "Hey, Keke." She was one of the few people at Heldon that I had to be nice to. Keke was not one whose bad side you should get on. I was in no mood to see my dirty secrets all over a blog post. "Please tell me that you weren't kidding in your message, were you? She had to admit, the book was the most boring thing she had ever heard!

Freya The doctor was nice enough, he poked and prodded a little, took a sample of blood to run some tests that he said he would get back to me about, gave me what looked like a year’s supply of vitamins and some supplements that he promised would help me regain a little of the weight I had lost and told me that he would be by again in a week to run another check-up. I half expected that I would be gone by then, not that I mentioned that to him. But all in all, he declared that I was in relatively good health considering. A little underweight, and malnourished, but nothing that a course of supplements, plenty of rest and some good meals couldn’t fix.
