He struck again—this time faster.
She blocked, barely, her feet skidding against the stone.
Pain flared.
She did not retaliate.
Damien’s fists clenched.
“Enough,” Rusk spat, frustrated. He stepped back. “She’s weak.”
Selena smiled.
Then the second challenger stepped forward.
This one was quieter. Smaller. A female wolf with sharp eyes and controlled movements.
“She thinks she’s special,” the woman said softly. “Because the Alpha looks at her.”
