Sienna’s POV

The hotel suite looked like a war zone.

Broken glass crunched under my boots as I stepped through the door, gun drawn but barrel pointed down.

Shattered bottles, overturned furniture, and the sharp smell of spilled whiskey mixed with expensive cologne hit me like a slap.

Two half-naked women scrambled to cover themselves with sheets while a shirtless guy with wild black hair stood in the middle of the chaos like he owned the destruction.

Nova Kane.

I’d seen his face on billboards and tabloids, but in person he looked even more dangerous.

Tall, tattooed, lean muscle, messy hair falling into sharp green eyes.

He held a half-empty bottle like a trophy, swaying slightly, a cocky grin plastered on his face.

“Detective,” he drawled, voice low and raspy from years of screaming on stage. “You’re late to the party.”

“Put your hands where I can see them,” I snapped, ignoring the heat in his stare. “Now.”

He laughed, deep and rough, and slowly raised his hands. One of the women whimpered behind him.

My partner, Ramirez, was already cuffing the other two idiots who’d helped trash the place.

“You always this uptight, officer?” Nova asked, eyes dragging down my uniform like he could see right through it. “Or do you save the fun side for after hours?”

“Shut up and turn around.”

He didn’t move. Instead, he took a slow step closer, still holding that damn bottle. “Come on, sweetheart. I don’t bite… unless you ask nicely.”

My jaw tightened. I holstered my gun and grabbed his wrist, twisting it behind his back harder than necessary.

Cold metal clicked around his wrists. Even cuffed, he looked too comfortable.

“Detective Sienna Vale,” I said flatly. “You’re under arrest for destruction of property, public intoxication, and whatever else we find once we finish searching this mess.”

Nova turned his head, lips inches from my ear. “Sienna,” he repeated, tasting my name like it was something dirty. “Pretty name for a pretty cop. You gonna frisk me next? I’ve been a very bad boy tonight.”

My skin prickled. I shoved him forward toward the door. “Keep talking and I’ll add resisting arrest to the list.”

He chuckled again, letting me push him along. “Feisty. I like that.”

The ride to the station was torture. Nova sat in the back of the squad car, legs spread, watching me through the mirror the entire time. Every time I glanced up, his eyes were on me.

“You ever get tired of playing good girl, Sienna?” he asked, voice cutting through the silence. “All that tight uniform… bet you’d look better with it on my bedroom floor.”

“Keep dreaming, rockstar.”

“Oh, I will. And in my dreams, you’re screaming my name instead of reading me my rights.”

Ramirez shot me a look. I ignored both of them and focused on the road.

By the time we reached the precinct, word had already spread. Nova Kane’s arrest was big news.

Cameras flashed outside as we brought him in. He posed for them like it was a red carpet, even with cuffs on.

Inside the interrogation room, I sat across from him. He leaned back in the chair like we were at a bar, completely unbothered.

“So, Detective,” he started, flashing that infuriating smirk. “You gonna be the one to punish me? I can think of a few ways I’d like that to go.”

I slammed the file down on the table. “You think this is funny? You destroyed a two-hundred-thousand-dollar suite, assaulted a security guard, and had drugs all over the place. You’re lucky you’re not in real jail yet.”

“Lucky?” He laughed. “Baby, luck has nothing to do with it. Money talks. You should know that by now.”

I leaned forward, keeping my voice cold. “Not this time. I’ve seen plenty of rich assholes like you think they’re untouchable. You’re not.”

His eyes darkened, still locked on mine. “You don’t know anything about me, Sienna. But I’d love to change that. Real slow. Real deep.”

My stomach flipped despite myself. I hated how my body reacted to that raspy voice saying my name.

“Save it for your groupies,” I shot back. “I’m not interested.”

“Yet,” he corrected with a wink. “You’re not interested yet.”

The next morning, I stood in the courtroom, arms crossed, watching Nova stand before the judge.

He’d cleaned up—sort of. Black shirt, messy hair still somehow styled, that same arrogant energy.

The judge looked exhausted. “Mr. Kane, you’re a repeat offender. The damage you caused last night is unacceptable.”

Nova shrugged. “It was a wild night, Your Honor. Won’t happen again.”

I almost rolled my eyes.

The judge continued, “However, considering your cooperation and the fact that no one was seriously injured, I’m offering a plea deal. Ninety days of strict house arrest at your residence under constant police supervision. One violation and you go straight to county jail. No excuses.”

Nova’s gaze slid to me. A slow, dangerous smile spread across his face.

“And who will be supervising me, Your Honor?”

The judge nodded toward me. “Detective Sienna Vale has been assigned as your primary officer. She will live on the premises and monitor your every move.”

My blood ran cold.

“What?” I stepped forward. “Sir, with all due respect—”

“Decision’s final, Detective,” the judge cut me off. “This is a high-profile case. I need someone I can trust. You’ve got the best record in the department for this kind of thing.”

Nova let out a low whistle. “Looks like we’re gonna be roommates, Sienna.”

I shot him a glare that could kill. He just grinned wider, green eyes gleaming with pure mischief.

As the bailiff removed his cuffs, Nova rubbed his wrists and walked straight toward me. He stopped close enough that I could smell whiskey and sin on him.

“Better pack your bags, Detective,” he murmured, voice low so only I could hear. “My mansion’s big… but I don’t plan on giving you much space. Ninety days. Just you and me.”

I lifted my chin, refusing to back down. “Touch me and I’ll arrest you myself.”

He leaned in, lips brushing my ear. “Promise?”

He walked away with his lawyer, that cocky swagger making my blood boil.

This wasn’t going to be ninety days.

This was going to be hell.
