A Final Farewell: Love Ignored

A Final Farewell: Love Ignored

This was a chess game that was destined to end at a stalemate from the very beginning. Every day since returning to Alden City, I'd wondered whether my ending would've been different if I'd rejected Eugene's mango cake that day. My guess was that it would have. I climbed over the railing around the roof, which was six stories high. In the past, it was a height that made my legs tremble. Now, I looked down, feeling unbelievably light and relaxed. I was exhausted. Everyone said death was a coward's choice, but I disagreed. Who would want to give up on life if they had other options? Who would choose death if there was still a chance to turn things around?

Second Chance, Final Draft

" He lowered himself so much that even the comment section started to soften. I didn't understand why he was putting on this act. Now that I was gone, there was no risk of him getting dragged into a plagiarism scandal again. Wasn't this the perfect outcome for him? When I couldn't make sense of it, I stopped trying. I locked my phone and rolled down the window, letting the cool fall air rush in. The flight was only three hours. I barely got halfway through my book before we landed. As soon as I stepped out of the terminal, I saw my father's Rolls-Royce waiting by the curb.

Wow… I loved the Alpha King’s Hated Slave and then decided to give this one a try… what a wonderful read. I love how all the characters grew through their suffering. This book shows so beautifully how true family is sometimes the ones we chose for ourselves and not the ones we were born into.

My Final Flight: Too Late for Him to Come

My Final Flight: Too Late for Him to Come

On the flight home, the plane starts shaking violently. Certain I'm about to die, I call my husband, Rhys Callahan, to say my last words. He hangs up on me, and his auto-reply flashes on the screen. "Driving. On my way to pick up Daphne." I've taken 86 flights in our five years of marriage. Every time I'm about to land, I ask him to come get me, and every time, the answer is the same. "Daphne's getting in too. I have to pick her up." He picks up Daphne Langston all 86 times. The lowest point comes during a rainstorm. I drag my suitcase through the downpour outside the terminal for two hours, unable to get a ride. When I call him, Daphne's voice comes through, laughing. "Oh, Rhys is h

The Final Portrait

The Final Portrait

"Did you think I'd just follow you back there? Dream on!" With a sudden burst of strength, she freed herself from her restraints and smashed the gas canister at the end of the hallway. Reaching into her pocket, she produced a lighter, a sinister grin appearing on her face. "You betrayed me, Chris… So you should pay the price! Let's go to hell together!" The exhibition hall burst into flames, which continued for a few hours. Chris was badly wounded but safe, and though he was sent to the hospital, he seemed like a completely different person when he woke up again.

Death Was My Final Target

Death Was My Final Target

' Serena, stripped of my support, went bankrupt. This was her intended ending anyway, so I felt no pity for her. As for Lark, without the abilities I bought for her, she died at the hands of her stepmother. The system was ruthless to the core. Before she died, she told her she was only good with the gun because of the purchase I made. Her lips moved, but she never managed to even say the words, "I'm sorry." Still, I no longer cared for their apologies. Finally, the system transferred my last reward. Two billion.
