Heartache in Yellowstone
I grunt louder to acknowledge him, and he chuckles.
"Not even a smile...wound up that tight, huh," Finley asks, and I freeze midswing.
"Don't start," I growl, not even looking his way.
Finley moves closer, and I throw the hay onto the overhead ledge.
"You know that only makes me more persistent. A trait I inherited from mom...Going to tell me the big secret, or should I just tell you I already know," Fin says lowly, and I growl under my breath.
I wipe the sweat from my brow and keep my face turned away from his as I answer him.
