I must hold the truth myself.” Alexander looked at her for a long moment, then kissed her hand gently. “Then we will carry it together.” Outside, the wind rose, rattling the windows with the sound of branches clawing against glass. Evelyn stood at the balcony, looking over the city lights. Somewhere across the continent, Claudia Moreau was gathering fragments of the past and sharpening them into a blade. Evelyn whispered to herself, “Let her build it. We will be ready when she draws it.”

She hissed at me as she went to open the door for our first pack Alpha. “Alpha Theodore Bronx, Alpha of the green woods pack, I brought my sons, Thomas and Timothy as one of my boys will be the next Alpha I hope you don’t mind Luna Riverwood.” A man’s voice said. I couldn’t see him from my seat but looking to Charlotte this was the reason she was here tonight. “Welcome Alpha, come on in. We are having everyone come to the sitting room to meet her so please follow me.” I heard the Luna’s voice come down the short hallway. I stood not wanting to but trying to make this go as well as it could. A tall man with black hair followed the Luna into the sitting room, I of course recognized the boys

“Get back!” Kierian shouted at Amerie as he tore off his shirt. He shifted quickly, a smaller, reddish wolf appearing next to him. Laney. Amerie slowly took steps backward as she manifested flames in both hands. Mae drew a dagger and held two smaller throwing blades in her other hand. Brynn took a defensive stance with her palms pointed at the multiple eyes. An Embertaur as big as Kierian appeared first, directly in front of them. It snarled, its eyes focused solely on Amerie. Four more Embertaurs appeared, flanking the first. More yellow eyes were still in the trees.

“Demon flame art: Purga!” All of the demons in the cube erupted in the same green flame. They withered away, but more too their place. “Fine then.”, she said, as a dagger appeared in her hand. She raised it up and mad e a single stroke down. “Antaroq Eznon Dymor!”

Then, he lowered his body and opened the scissors in his hand and ferociously slashed the blade at Stormbringer’s abdomen. Stormbringer brought his saber over the top of the Blonde Jack’s head. He did not expect the young man’s reaction to be this fast. Not only did he dodge his slash so casually, but his enemy also took advantage of this time gap to give him a fatal blow. Blonde Jack made a finger-long wound in Stormbringer’s belly with his scissors. It almost cut his entire belly open. Blood spurted out! Intestines spilled out of Stormbringer’s abdomen.

I could picture his technique in my head… the Flame Kindler. The flame kindled was an elemental sword technique that made your opponents hands burn with each movement of the sword. The heat was enough to burn an Omega in a minute, but for a Gamma, it would take days to fully take effect. I tilted my head back to the battlefield, and to my amazement, Kyle was holding Ryu off despite the burn. He kept single strokes, moving his body around like he was following the motion of the wind. “If it means killing you to take that imposter you call your personal maiden, then I will.” Kyle grunted as Ryu pushed him back with his sword.
