I looked up and saw Conrad walking toward me, surrounded by a crowd. As he approached, the whispers of the crowd immediately ceased. Conrad and I had grown up together. When we were five or six, our families arranged an engagement between us. Whenever anyone bullied me, he was always the first to stand up for me. When he made a mistake and got punished, I was the first to plead for him. Until now, no one had ever doubted that I was Conrad's true love.

I tried to convince myself. I couldn’t bring myself to wear my sandals so I wore one of the other socks that I’d brought. It was from the Toy Story franchise and it was bright yellow. I put on the flip-flops I found in the room. Sadly, my feet were too small for it. The flip-flops were twice my feet length. I hadn’t brought any other shoes except the sandals. I ditched the flipflops and decided to walk in my socks then. However, the floors were cold. I ignored it and walked out of the room.
