For My Derelict Favorite Novel Novels & Stories

This way I don’t have to carry books everywhere, but I always have something readily available. The books I keep by my bed are ones that I want to read, but can sometimes be a bit slow in parts, so they help me fall asleep. I’m currently reading “Les Misérables” by Victor Hugo. It’s an amazing book, but some of the details can be a bit much. I’ve always preferred fiction, but some parts of Les Mis read more like a history textbook, perfect for those nights I need help falling asleep.

I swear that this guy moves like a ghost. I sat down on the couch, I realised that there was a book on the table. I took it and it was one of my favourite author, it was Jane Austen and it was a first edition. I can only wonder how much it must have caused. Pride and Prejudice will always be my all time favourite literature. All in all I can say that being married doesn't seem to bad from where I was standing.

“Favorite novelist?” “Jane Austen. Pride and Prejudice, before you ask.” “By God, boy!” he exclaimed in glee and clapped his hands. “We have a keeper with this one!” He turned to me again. “Second favorite?” I chewed my lip for a second. “Dickens or Louisa May Alcott. It’s tough, but Alcott might just win out. Her ability to create a whole cast of compelling, lovable characters – not just one or two – is something I’ve yet to find in another writer.”

At least he is nice. Sometimes after training or after meals, I would find a small surprise in my room. Chocolates, flowers, and books to relieve my boredom. I suspect it was Merideth, or maybe Jamie; they are the only people that have actually shown me any kindness since I’ve been here. Plus, the books were mostly sappy romance novels, which seems more like a Mistress Merideth’s thing. This was not a genre I’d ever read before, and I was quickly finding that I really enjoyed them. They were light and easy, and I didn’t have to think too hard. Yet, I still found myself completely pulled into the ridiculous stories. They gave me something else to think about other than my own horror story. Es

“Psychological studies mostly.” His smile fades slightly. “Fiction?” “Oh. Right.” I clear my throat. “Yes. Fiction too.” “Favourite novel?” Why was this suddenly feeling like an oral exam? I panic and blurt out the first thing that comes to mind. “Gone Girl.” The interviewer goes silent and just stares at me. Then he finally says. “Interesting choice for a library focused on family and community engagement.” Right. What I mentioned was an erotic murder thriller. Terrible choice for the family and community.

Just isolation from everything that can keep my sanity in check. I sat cross-legged on the sofa beside my bed, flipping through another one of the books Mia brought me. I had read the novel twice. It was my favorite novel from the collection Mia had brought me these past few days. My gaze skimmed over the words, I wasn’t interested in reading. My mind was restless, spinning in endless circles. What if this was how it would always be? Locked away like some dark secret. Like I was quarantined. Hidden from everyone. Was I a prisoner or a guest?

I took it to my room, got comfortable on the bed and opened my favourite novel. It's one I've read over and over again, always mesmerised by the plot and the characters. The way they drive for revenge and everything in-between. Love, lust, passion, tragedy. It all struck home. I was more than halfway through my cup when my ten minute alarm rang and I got up. Thanking the gods for the little pleasures of life, I stripped and got into the shower. I let the hot water roll off my skin thinking about my open book and comfy bed waiting for me outside.

One notable thing about her is that she is usually thoughtful. I slipped into the nightgown and walked to the drawer. I opened the second drawer and looked at the books inside including a few novels. I picked up one of the novels. It was a romance novel which is my favorite genre. I sauntered to the bed and lay on it. I opened the book and started reading. As I read, from time to time, I stole glances at Melody. She was engrossed in her knitting. I read a few pages of the novel before I drifted off to sleep.

Eric called Anthony out. I sighed in relief, knowing very well that I was saved. “We’re not done yet” Anthony warned me, holding his bag pack, and left behind Eric. **************** I was making my way towards my locker, along with Nat and Anna. We were talking about a new site that we recently discovered. It was a romantic novels site, and I was more than obsessed! “Well, I guess my favorite part was when he confessed” I said, putting my both hands on my chest, closing my eyes. They both giggled after I was done telling them about one of the best novels I just finished reading.
