Dominic stared at her like she had lost her mind. “You’re the love of my life,” he said, voice absolute. “I wouldn’t know how to move on if I tried.” Corinne’s eyes filled again. She did not wipe the tears away. She simply let them fall while he kept kissing her knuckles, her palms, the soft insides of her wrists. They talked until the café staff started giving them pointed looks. Dominic told her about Highclere, how the theory classes had been harder than he expected, how the kitchen was the only place that still felt like home.

“Your hand is still bleeding. Why are you running out of the house like this? Come home with me. I'll have a Healer look at it.” I pulled my hand free and said softly, “No need.” Kaiden drew a deep breath and stepped between Nolan and me, his possessiveness plain. “I don't care who you are. Stay away from Freya. She's my mate.” Nolan looked as if he wanted to say something, but I tugged lightly at his sleeve, warning him to stay quiet. Soren frowned, unable to hold back any longer. “Freya, are you truly going this far just because Lia is staying in the master bedroom for a few days?”

FRACTURES IN THE PALACE FREYA’S POV The goblet slipped from my hand, wine staining the white marble like blood. He was slipping. Every glance, every breath Rico took lately — it was hers. That pathetic werewolf girl was becoming a shadow I couldn’t shake. I stood in front of my mirror, running a finger along the curve of my throat, imagining his touch. But that touch now belonged to Xenia — the substitute bride, the girl who was supposed to fade into nothing.

I can feel their knees on the ground like it’s my own body forcing them down.” Frynn swears softly, pulling me against his chest. His heart is a steady drum beneath my ear. Mine, the bond murmurs instinctively, and I flinch. “That’s not what you’re doing,” he says fiercely. “You’re not forcing anything.” “But it feels like I am,” I say, clutching his shirt. “Their fear, Frynn, it’s so loud. After a brief hesitation, she forced a cheerful tone and said, “Oh, it’s you, Adrian!” “Why? Not happy to see me?” Adrian asked. “Adrian, you must be joking. I’m delighted that you’ve made it through the spatial rift,” Freya replied. Adrian chuckled coldly. “I have no interest in lingering here with you. Goodbye.” As Adrian prepared to leave, Freya’s smile froze, and her expression hardened. She was not about to let him go. “Hmph! You brat, you’re not going anywhere!” she snapped, forming a hand seal and sending a stream of light toward Adrian.

The man was so damn jealous. Why would you use the word close connection? That should be just for me and you. I’m already tolerating the best friend slogan. Why dump this on me? Aiden asked. Freya sighed. The man was a big crybaby. “The reason why we had connected so strongly was because I was of his kind, well partly. As I mentioned earlier. I am a hybrid.” she concluded, folding her arms across her chest when peter asked her a question. “What kind is that? Who is your other part?”

he growled, the gold in his eyes shining with a supernatural light. With millimeter precision, Cedrik sank his fangs into Freya's soft skin. She let out a cry that was half pain and half absolute ecstasy. His blood mingled with hers in the moment of the bite, and a shockwave coursed through the sacred bond. Freya felt Cedrik's mind open to hers; she saw his memories, felt his ancestral loneliness, and finally, the overwhelming light that she herself had brought into his life. The mark of eternity was being etched not just on her skin, but in her spirit.

I may have accepted who and what I am but that didn’t mean I needed to like it. Not giving away any other information Freya stomped up the stairs only the moment her enlarged elongated fingers touched the handle, we were blown backwards. Digging her feet into the ground we came to a holt as a cloud of dust surrounded us. Freya muttered something under her breath but was too quiet for me to hear. Taking a deep breath, I watched as Freya launched herself back at the door only this time her hands disappeared. Our body began to heat as yellow electric ran up her arms before suddenly a blue dome appeared and disintegrated.

Dante began, the icicles he called irises still focused on his phone screen. Freya's eyes rolled inside their sockets as her knees threatened to buckle. Was she going to have to deal with this sin in the form of a man? Or, quit and run away. After all, she accepted the idea of moving to another city just to escape any possibility of having to deal with him or her past.

Freya's cries pierced through the air, filling me with a rush of urgency. With a swift transformation back into my human form, I made my way up the stairs, guided by the sound of Freya's cries. With each step I took, the scent of her distress grew stronger, mingling with the familiar aroma that was uniquely hers. I could hear her voice, filled with agony and longing, calling out to me, begging for relief from the burning pain between her legs. The urgency of her pleas pushed me forward, my heart pounding in my chest as I reached the door to my bedroom. Without hesitation, I pushed it open and stepped inside, my eyes spotting her in bed.
