My brother's voice had become dangerously quiet. "Already did. Check your email. There's more—" My brother didn't let him continue. He hung up abruptly, pulled the car over to the shoulder with a violent swerve, and slammed on the brakes so hard the seat belt cut into his chest. With shaking hands, he opened the video on his phone. I couldn't see it from my perspective, but I could hear Selene's shrill screams in the recording: "Help! Skye burned me! Someone help!" After watching it, my brother dropped the phone into his lap. For several heartbeats, he sat perfectly still, not even breathing.

He said hugging Emilio. They pulled out of the hug when they heard the sound of The Gate opening. Bright white light shone from the other side making it difficult to see what was there. Squinting his eyes, Emilio drove into the lights. They drove into The Gate and found themselves in a similar place to where The Gate was in their realm. They looked back to see The Gate close behind them and and go back to looking like every normal gate. "Whoa, we made it." Rodriguez said, excited.

“You are my brother, Desmond. That is all you will ever be to me. You need to get these romantic ideas out of your head right now.” A loud ripple of gasps moved through the hall like a wave. People started whispering to one another, their voices sounding like the buzzing of angry bees. The crowd felt amazed and horrified by what I was saying. To call the future Alpha my brother was a slap in the face to the entire pack.

"I really underestimated you." Matt laughed. "Who would have expected you to put the poison in his food." But I didn't care about his mindless praises. "What about my brother?" Matt looked at me and turned around. He dipped his hand into his pocket and brought out a crumbled piece of paper, and tossed it over to him.
