“Fun?” I repeated. “You disappeared for hours with Kyle, your mum almost called the police, and now you walk in grinning like a—”
“Like a man who finally had a good night?” he interrupted, raising an eyebrow.
My jaw dropped. “What the hell does that even mean?”
Champ just leaned back, closing his eyes, that lazy grin still sitting on his lips. “It means,” he said, dragging out the words, “that for once, I actually feel... good.”
