I shrug Back — ELARA POV Amber calls for me just after moonrise. She waits beside a massive bonfire in the central courtyard, dressed in ceremonial robes threaded with silver and lined with feathers. Her eyes glitter with reflection and something older. A crowd gathers silently behind her. She gestures for me to step forward. My feet move before my brain can stop them. “This night marks the awakening of Elara Nightshade,” Amber says to the pack. “Daughter of Anya Greystone. Heir of Predator. White wolf of the moon.”

I’m about to use Emerald’s eyes again when a vision overwhelms me. ** I see Alpha Everly’s eyes glow menacingly. They are now a glowing iridescent white, incredibly spooky. Light swirls around her as she brings vines up from the ground. There are creatures with red eyes surrounding her, pressed to kill. The creatures are pitch black, twisted and evil. While they fear her light, they are charged with one motivation: snuff out the light. She can’t do this alone. She needs help. I see a pair of hazel eyes before me. They close with finality. I see the same vision, but with a pair of bright blue eyes. There is a feeling of sorrow that washes over me.

Her drink is as unnaturally bright red as her hair and it looks… fizzy? “Perfect, my favourite.” Amber beams. Cam tilts her head in confusion. “What do you mean? I’ve never made this one before. I’m testing new drinks on you guys tonight. How can it be your favourite?” She asks. Amber just shrugs and starts drinking so I take pity on Cam. “Amber is an Oracle. She tends to know things she shouldn’t. It’s easier to just roll with it.” I recommend. If Cam is surprised, she doesn’t show it. I’m starting to think there isn’t anything that can ruffle this girl. Amber nods her agreement.

“Where is Amber?” A laugh of relief almost bubbled up in Mina’s stomach but she suppressed it. Squaring her shoulders and taking a deep breath, she allowed her eyes to unfocus. Keeping her voice level like she was under a bond, she began to recite what they had all planned. “Amber came with me to Silver Moon but she’s not here right now. She’s deep in the woods. She’s a maid to the pack advisor, Lady Delilah, and together they went into the woods for some training. She told me they’d be back to the palace in two days,”

“We’ve got plenty of things to discuss.” “I’m glad we see eye to eye, Alpha Bryan,” Amber said and lifted her glass. “To a fruitful partnership, Luna Amber,” Bryan said and clinked his glass against Amber’s. She’d already special ordered the herbs that would cloud Troy’s mind enough to make him forget Reese. The mark would wither and disappear and she’d be there, waiting with open arms. Amber smiled and took a sip from her bourbon, she’d be waiting patiently.
