VOID I flicked the third blade at the wall without looking, my eyes still glued to the laptop, and the satisfying thunk told me it landed. Mom Sharlene quickly cried. “Where is my daughter? What happened to her?” she cried. “I’m sorry, I failed to protect her,” Caled answered. Caled looked devastated, his eyes were bloodshot and I believed he cried. I sighed and swallowed hard when Sharlene went upstairs. I followed her with Dad and we arrived in Ginny’s bedroom. Ginny's Pov Rachel was the first to speak. Her hand shot out, gripping Jason by the arm, “What are you saying, Jason?” She demanded, her voice trembling despite the anger she tried to muster. Her eyes darted between Howard and Jason, desperate, searching for something to hold on to, “Ginny… Ginny is the daughter of our former driver. Do you not remember? He died in that car accident, he gave his life to save Howard. That was the reason we adopted her in the first place. Ginny can’t…” Her voice cracked, “She can’t be Howard’s daughter.”

She remembered Kelly and started thinking about her again. Gently, she touched the corner of her eyes so the tears won't drop. She kept on watching Chloe. . . Ginny was strolling around the house, wearing her short dress. She was uncomfortable with it. She had no idea that the manor will be filled with guards and maids. They were so many of them. "Ginny?" Someone called her name. She turned and saw Manuel's mother. "Hi Martha. I mean, mom" she said. "It's fine, you can call me Martha" she immediately corrected.

Mrs Angela asked as she stared askance at Daisy Hunter. Glaring back at Mrs Angela, Daisy's countenance changes from happiness to a mixture of concern and bewilderment. "No, I'm Wade's fiancée," Daisy said, her voice laced with trepidation. "You…my son's fiancée?…aren't you his Secretary at the office?" "Yes, I am ma." Daisy Hunter replied, her gaze intent on Mrs Angela. Staring askance at Daisy, Mrs Angela's gaze was laced with venom. "This can't be." Mrs Angela said as she flung the door shut at Daisy's face.

I thought about last night the whole way to class. The reading room had felt warm and safe under Seraphine's ward—kind of golden, like she'd added that on purpose because she could. Ginna showed up alone. She sat across from us and somehow looked smaller. Not weak or anything, just... real. Dark hair, those silver-green eyes, and this tired determination carved into her face like she'd been carrying it for eight years straight. She listened to the whole acknowledgment offer without jumping in. Asked three sharp questions about High Witch Council rules that proved she already knew the system inside out. Then she went quiet for a long stretch.

Ginny's words didn't touch her the slightest. Ginny wasn't her birth mother, yet she had been treating Ginny like her mother for many years. She kept her company and cheered her up. That was the least Ginny could do for her. Ginny owed her this much. After talking to Elizabeth, Ginny phoned Paul. "Don't wait at the entrance. Wait by the roadside. I'll be driving to you. I'm in a white BMW with the license plate YV 140 AHD." There were security cameras and reporters all over the hotel. Ginny was worried that the cameras would capture her.

Ginny was never an honest person that was why we broke up in the first place. "You promised you’d come see me, Hayes. But you were taking too long, so I came to see you instead. I am tired of waiting. Your son misses you, I miss you." She looked at me with sad eyes, but I could see through her facade. I was shocked with how bidl she was acting,with her knowing fully well that I know her very well. Although I still found it kind of strange that she was able to bypass Alex and his assistant along with my receptionist there was no denying that she was an unwanted guest and I had to find a way to get rid of her.

During the conversation, I learned that the girl in black was named Lydia Muller. "Are you two friends? Or coworkers?" I asked casually. Ginny replied softly, "We're—sisters." I nodded, then continued to ask, "Aren't you afraid that I might do it again while we're stuck here?" Ginny gave me a deep look, her voice quiet but clear. "At least you seem kinder than your cousin. Besides, they're busy in the front now." I was taken aback—Eric had really strong stamina!
