Glass Houses の小説・ストーリー

And I have always been willing to burn for the truth, especially when the truth smells like this. Outside the corridor window the desert wind shifts, carrying a new note that does not belong to any of us. The glass is thick, designed to keep the extremes of the climate at bay, yet the change in the air reaches me clearly. Something older. Something that should not be able to reach this deep into the palace. It moves beneath the more immediate scent still clinging to the space between us, a deeper current that has nothing to do with suppressants or carefully maintained performances. I smell it the same instant her eyes widen. Whatever is coming has already found the cracks. The knowledge settl

Their temporary blindness subsided after a couple of moments, but still none of them were sure of what they were truly seeing. A massive greenhouse. Kat and Calix gawked at the impossibly tall and vast glass structure before them, filled with all kinds of weird vines, bushes, and even an entire freaking tree. It was thick and white and tall, reaching out to the glass ceiling like a chandelier in reverse. Instead of pots and soil, glass vials of every size and variety littered the floor, grouped inside wooden crates. Music was playing somewhere, an eerie, ethereal medley of a woman humming and the low keys of an organ.

All sides on the greenhouse is covered with glass walls, small trees and plants, some are indoors, some are flowers. The whole greenhouse was lit up with soft lights, I walked in the middle their a big L-shaped couch was presented. I looked up and it gives me a view of full moon and stars, so I thanked my stars and lay down on it, I was feeling a little cold, but shrugging that I lay down on the couch hugging myself, as a tear slipped from my eyes, by thinking the past events which brings me here.

forest? Rather than solid walls, the glass roof was held to the ground with vibrant green vines that had pink lotuses sprouting from them, spiraling from the ground and pushing it to stay up there in the skies. The grand underneath my foot had grass that stuck smoothly to the floor like carpet. I pondered if it was fake for a bit before I spotted a man place his hand over a portion of wild grass and raise his hand up as if to touch the sky. In response, the earth rose from ground level and soared higher. As it did, white lilies started to grow on the brown earth. I eyed the display wishing I could manipulate the earth like that.

Glass stained red and hues of green staring back at Clay in the form of a delicate rose. "Oh just head on in, I'll be back in a minute with the gift for your father." Clay opened his mouth to question the man, but as he turned, James was already gone. Empty air grasping at where the chairman's presence was just welcomed. The door pulled open with a startlingly loud creak, and Clay's body grew stiff in the doorway. With fingers still pressed firmly around the handle, the brunette cast his gaze over the room filled to the brim with flourishing green leaves and sparks of color. Everywhere he looked- even in the dark shadows of the area-life brimmed in the tall fortress of plants held alive with

I’d killed a cactus once. We exited the office and took a short hallway until we reached the back of the house, where we entered what seemed to be a salon or sitting room of some sort with one wall made entirely of glass, facing the backyard. “One entrance into the conservatory where the roses are is through those doors right there.” I blinked at a set of French doors that led into what looked like a glass-domed corridor that connected to a greenhouse shaped like a massive gazebo. “Wow,” I breathed, stepping closer and needing to see more.

An impressive two-story A-frame cabin stood alone at the end of a gravel path. It had been built away from the greenhouse, in the middle of a shady pocket of redwoods, so its steep, triangular roof and the vast open lawn in front of it were covered with a blanket of fallen needles. There was a nice grassy patch with some picnic tables, but the main attraction was the cabin itself. More than half of it looked like it was made of glass, all wide, tinted windows, and open sliding doors.

And I just stood still and stared at the greenhouse. It looked like a mini forest. I had walked around it, trying to decide where I would start from. And then I had come around something that made me pause and stare and stare for what felt like hours. A large patch of soil looked dull and grayish, no growth in that place because it looked like… heat sterilized the ground. And I knew. I immediately knew. I slowly looked up at the glass wall to see soot stains creeping up the glass and metal frames, like gray-black fingers. The glasses were also clouded and cracked from heat stress.

he asked hopefully. "Okay," Megan sighed. "Lead the way, Elena." They walked through the back of the house and out onto a stone terrace. The gardens were sprawling and perfectly manicured, but the "glass house" was a massive structure of iron and glass that looked like something out of Victorian England. Inside, the air was thick, warm, and smelled of damp earth and jasmine.

(Author’s POV) . Out in the garden of a large mansion, there was a place of privacy. A place surrounded by greeneries and blossomed flowers. A luxurious scenery built for a rich family. In the middle of it all was a glasshouse constructed with panes of modern glasses that had allowed natural lights into the building. An antique structure that the Cage family was proud of. Surrounded by nature, the glasshouse was calming place to be and situated far away from the main building. A good place for a hideout from the public. Definitely a good place to hide someone.
