Chapter 21 As the fated mates took their first step towards the unknown, a distant rumble echoed through the air. The ground beneath them trembled, sending shockwaves of uncertainty through their beings. A tempest brewed on the horizon, dark clouds swirling in a sinister dance. Their eyes widened in alarm as a figure emerged from the storm, a figure they had never anticipated. It was a being of ancient power and malevolence, a harbinger of chaos and despair. The realm gasped in collective disbelief, for the figure was none other than Malachi himself, risen from the depths of oblivion.

The lord of hell snapped as he took a defensive stance, his mechanical white eyes weary. Hades mimicked the psychopathic lord’s stance, his tone once again rising as he forced a chuckle. “So you intend on making Elika obedient and keeping her as a silent little pet, while continuing with the war and forcing her to go along on raids?” “Well isn’t he just Sherlock fucking Holmes?” The demonic being chuckled within Darkous’ mind. “You are correct, brother.” The lord of hell nodded, choosing to ignore the demon’s snappy remark. The king of hell nodded, tilting his head as he spoke. “Then, dear brother. Would you mind me let’s say, showing her around my lab?”

I have now come to the end of book one of my Cursed by the gods series. It has been a long journey I'm not gonna lie. I lost commitment along the way of writing this book, lost inspiration, even changed the plan I initially had for it. I am really glad that I got to finish it and if you stayed till the end I just want to say thank you for even choosing this book in the first place. I will start with the second book as soon as possible and do my best to make that one better. I hope I have been able to tell you a good story dear readers and once again I thank you for reading Cursed by the gods. Thank you.

Their morale was spent and the mood was miserable. In the meantime, the Great Immortal and Ye Wuxin could hardly believe their eyes. With frowns forming over their brows, they wondered, Impossible. THE heavens never spoke in whispers. They roared. Kael knelt at the edge of the celestial dais, his skin stripped of its golden glow, blackened now with the mark of divine betrayal. The air around him shimmered with judgment, each breath thick with the rancid stench of mortality. Above him, the gods loomed, their faces carved from the cold light of eternity. Their eyes held neither pity nor forgiveness—only a cruelty as infinite as the stars. “You, the god of storms, who once commanded the skies,” boomed the All-Father, his voice rattling the cosmos, “have desecrated the sacred laws. You dared to love what is beneath us. A mortal. A fleeting ember among our eternal flame.”

In his sobs I hear, “I didn’t mean to…Oh, goddess! Toby! What have I done?” Then we are in a dark room and Mal is wearing all black as he whispers,”Goddess help me. I am not worthy of love. I hurt people when I care, don’t give me a mate. I would just hurt them.” His black eyes stare right at me and he says, “Goddess, can you promise me that I won’t have a mate?”

Perhaps, the soul of that girl had returned, and he was not so happy to see her. Just then, the black journal opened on it's own. He could see the girl's thread move, but he didn't expect what it did next. To his shock, his white fate thread came close to hers, and they intertwined themselves. “This can't be.” He said in panic, reaching out to grab the journal but it disappeared. He wondered what it meant. It was nothing out of the ordinary for human fate to intertwined. But he was a god who had lived for thousands of years on earth, and he had no business with a mortals. Why would his fate ever be intertwined with a human’s?

He had spoken out of turn, revealing his ignorance and placing himself squarely in the crosshairs of their collective anger. Lord Malachi’s voice was dangerously soft, his eyes burning with a cold intensity. "Paranoid? Child, I have faced the King of Darkness when your bloodline was but a whisper in the void. This is not paranoia. This is a cold, hard certainty. And those who underestimate him pay the ultimate price."

Moments later, Suddenly, the Black Forest didn't just scream; it buckled. At the summit of the Externsteine Mirror, the air had turned into a toxic, grey slurry of anti-matter. Elder Malakor stood at the center of the obsidian spire, his hands woven into the ley lines like a parasite, his eyes bleeding the cold, dead light of the Old Order. "I am the architect of the silence!" Malakor’s voice didn't come from his throat; it erupted from the stone itself, a grinding, tectonic roar. "You are but a glitch in the symphony, Evangeline! A mistake I will now erase!"
