The thread snapped loose. Axel’s eyes widened in surprise. Had he gotten a second chance? Could she be the one? He thought to himself. All his days of living on earth would finally be over. All through his hundred generations on earth, no one had ever defied their fate, no one except this special girl who was about to move to the great beyond. But now, he could not let that happen. She was his ticket out of earth. Closing the journal, he teleports himself to the river.

He dives deep in, and swims his way down to the river bank in search of her. The brick may have probably made her sink at once. He closed his eyes to sense her body vibration. He could sense human energy. Her's was weak but he found it. His eyes fluttered open. Following the wave with ease, he found her by the sea bed. She was floating above the block. Her wrists were bound with a chain and fastened tightly to a heavy block. Her red dress was a mess, the flairs looked like fragments from a rag. Her hair spread around her like tiny strings, her eyes were closed, she was half dead.

He touched the chains with a finger and it fell off immediately. He wrapped his right arm around her waist and swam up to the surface. When they got to the shore, he placed her gently on the sand, and pressed her stomach to untrap oxygen and make her breathe. But she was unresponsive, it didn't work. He tried pressing her chest like he saw humans do, but it didn't work. He had never interfered in human business in his life, this was the first after the tragedy he had faced in the past.

Left with no choice, he decided to give her a fraction of his life force to stabilize hers. The thread between her life and death was very thin, and could severe at anytime. She was as good as dead.

Slowly placing his lips on hers, he blew a cold soft air into her. A few seconds passed, Ariel stirred, her hand twitched and her body shook. She struggled to open her eyes. Seconds passed, a huge gasp escaped her lips as she sat up, eyes wide open. She took a few deep breath, she knew she was in the afterlife. The torn parts of her flesh Bianca and Damien's men had messed up miraculously came back together. Ariel didn't feel any pain. She looked beside her in panic, she could see the grim reaper. He was probably the one who had come for her soul. “Please don't hurt me, she whispered faintly. “I was nice when I was alive .”

“You were not nice you were dumb.” Axel replied icily.

Ariel looked at the sea and it's surrounding in confusion. “Where am I?.” She was forced to ask.

“Earth.”

She held her head in pain, she had an excruciating headache, it felt like her head was about to split open. She fainted, Axel was quick to hold her head before her back touches the ground. “Darned humans.” He cursed. He was never wrong for despising humans, they were the weakest species he had ever seen. They were full of greed, lies, lust and other dumb vices. Their emotions were very unsteady as well , they could switch up on anyone at any point in time. And now he had to look after this one to get what he wanted. Perhaps, the soul of that girl had returned, and he was not so happy to see her.

Just then, the black journal opened on it's own. He could see the girl's thread move, but he didn't expect what it did next. To his shock, his white fate thread came close to hers, and they intertwined themselves. “This can't be.” He said in panic, reaching out to grab the journal but it disappeared. He wondered what it meant. It was nothing out of the ordinary for human fate to intertwined. But he was a god who had lived for thousands of years on earth, and he had no business with a mortals. Why would his fate ever be intertwined with a human’s?

He looked at her bare tender face, her procleain skin glistened like silver droplets of water under the evening sunlight, her red lips looked soft and tender, her lashes were long and delicate. The dress she wore clasped on every cynosure of her body. He swallowed hard and quickly snapped out of his staring. With ease, he scooped her up in his arms and walked away.

Joan was quiet all through the ride, she had been on the run when Dean's car pulled over. The ride to god knows where, was quiet. She sniffed and sobbed, wiping her tears with the back of her hands. “Why were you there?” “Do you mind telling me what's going on?” He responded, sipping from the whiskey bottle on the table.“Its family business.”“Your pride is not important at this point.” Silent, her eyes darted around the minimalist decor in the house, searching for what to focus on “I guess your family would be happy to know where you are, don't you think?”“Are you usually this annoying?” She was forced to ask. “Maybe.” He shrugged. “I don't know what's up, but if you keep it to yourself, I don't think you're going to make it alive next time.” She stared quietly in suspicion. “You just happened to be there at the right time.“Yeah, I had a client around the area.” He replied, massaging his temple. Getting Joan to talk was not going to be as easy as he thought, she

Ariel's eyes darted around, scanning the restaurant in search of him. She hoped he'd show up. She had texted him the address last night. Seconds turned into minutes and minutes rolled into hours. She glanced at the door in expectation, hoping he'd walk in any moment, but there was no sign of him. She decided to be a bit more patient. The previous incident traumatized Khan; he was doing great, the killings had ceased, and the psycho was probably behind bars. Joan reached out after a week and told her she had gone on a vacation. Ariel was relieved. Sighing, she glanced at the oblique aesthetic clock on the wall. He was already an hour late. Disappointment began to creep in; he was not coming. The realization left a sinking feeling in her stomach; it was like her heart had been ripped in two. Tears stung her eyes, but she blinked them back with difficulty. Expecting Axel to like her back was hopeless; he didn't even have the decency to show up or decline her treat. That was h

“Our new model will be wearing the”Blair Wang” ruffle dress. She'd take on a minor role in our new series, to serve as an eye candy.” Rebecca, the glam team leader informed Kyle who was going through a jagged line chart on his tab. “Perfect.” “Our ratings for “Cheer up” soared by three more percent. They say it inspired more young girls to pick up cheerleading. . We can make another blockbuster like cheer up, with carefully selected actors. Our marketing strategy is to include ten top actors the people love on their screens in our new movie.” Relieved, Kyle smiled. He was enjoying the pitch, and he felt blessed to have Rebecca. Her brain works around the clock, brainstorming on ideas that'd make their ratings soar. Running Blue Rail entertainment had been his father's lifelong dream, he was happy it was working. Rebecca strolled to the limited edition dress on the hanger and ran her fingers on the ruffles on the flairs of the dress. “Where is Mis

Rain was sobbing behind the counter when Ariel barged in like she was running from a wild beast. “Where is he?.” She asked the distraught aunty Rain, fearing the worst had happened. “I can't find him, he is missing.” Rain cried in response, blowing her nose with a towel. “When did this happen?.”“This afternoon.""He went out to play with the other kids but he never came back. I'm panicking, what if something bad happens to him? He's just a baby.” She sobbed. Ariel's heart sank to her stomach. She desperately hoped he was still alive. This was all her fault, that psychopath had probably gotten his claws on Khan. Desperate, she ran out the door in search of Axel, he could not have gone far, he was still around, and he could help. She wondered why he had not saved Khan, it was piece of cake for him. But if Khan dies, it'd be too late. Nothing could bring him back. Ariel had a hunch the serial killer had kidnapped Khan. But Axel was the only one who'd know what

Ariel was walking out of the cozy cafe with her iced cappuccino, when an expensive Ford mustang screeched to a halt in front of her. Startled, she stopped and fixed her gaze on its doors in confusion to see who’d emerge from it. A polite gentleman dressed in a black smartly tailored suit steps down and opens the back door. “Miss, sir Jaques wants to see you, he asked me to pick you up.” He beckons on her to get in.“I'm busy.” She lied.“That's fine, he expects you to decline. But I'll lose my job if you don't come.” Ariel was stunned, was he seriously trying to blackmail her?“I need your help, miss, my boss means every word.” Ariel was silent. Whatever approach he applied was working. A part of her wished to meet Jaques. The mysterious young man that had piqued her curiosity in the board room.“Please.” The man pleaded desperately, hoping she'd comply.Ariel looked at her hoodie and jeans, she was underdressed. “I need to get changed.” “That has already been taken car

Bianca moved through the stench in the dark alley with her left hand placed over her nose. The old man's base smelt like death, she could hardly bear the stench. He was propped up against the wall when she saw him. He shoved a smoke against his lips and flicked the lighter on. He swipes a glance at her, and walks towards an abandoned container in the alley, scratching his festering wound as he walks. Unlike the foggy darkness outside, the interior was bright. But Lucius kept some places dark. There were different murder weapons on the table, knives, axes and an empty gun. Lucius had emptied the bullets, the gun was not an active participant in his job, shooting someone would draw attention. Bianca looked at him sternly. “What do you want?.” “I don't like when you look at me like that.” “Like what?.”“With disgust.” He puffed a gust of smoke and cocked the empty gun. “Because I am disgusted.”“You never look at your mother like that.” “She's nothing like you.” Sh
