I’d been warned to steer clear of his work space. But something gnawed at me. Curiosity. I slowly placed the bucket down, and walked carefully towards the desk. There was an open book resting on it. She had drifted off into sleep thankfully. “We'll need to get my father out,” Damien whispered to me. "What do we do?" I asked. Damien pulled me aside. "We will fight back. But first..." He drew in closer and then kissed me hard, his hand sliding under my wet shirt, fingers pinching my nipple. Rain had soaked us from everything but heat between us built fast. "Not now," I whispered. Yet my greedy body leaned in, my pussy aching for his thick cock once again. And I would get it.

“Especially now.” She slid off the bed, backing away until her legs hit the edge. “If you touch me” “I won’t,” he said immediately. When he turns his hand just slightly, I catch the engraving. Dot. My vision swims. Something in my chest gives, sharp and unexpected. I thought this whole sham of a marriage would drag Victor back to the surface, that it would feel like reopening an old wound. He was the man I once thought was mine. Even if our marriage had been nothing but smoke and mirrors, even more hollow than the contract I signed in Damien’s car. But every time I look at Damien, all I can think about is how different this feels. This pull. This heat. This want that sits low and constant, too much and somehow never enough. It makes the childish, desperate love I once had for Victor feel small. Embarrassing.

“That rather gives the plot away, no?” I laughed. “Romance novels aren’t known for being subtle.” He plucked the book from my fingers before I could react. He held it over my head as he flipped through it. “Where are the love scenes? Ah, found one.” He raised one golden eyebrow as he began to read aloud: “‘A fire lit in her belly. Damian’s hands were magic. Everywhere he touched, it was like fire across her skin.’” “Oh my God, stop—” He just held the book up higher. Tall people were the worst.

Depends on how you take his character;)) Do check out my other book "NOT MINE" it is a dark romance and contains all sorts of things, you readers might love to read (evil grin). It may not seem dark at first but it'll fuck with your minds later. That book is complete.

I hope that you enjoyed this story. This was one of the first full novels that I wrote. If you have you will also enjoy Across the Desk and the triology that it sparked. it is a dark romance story in which a young woman, Deanna, finds her true love and they forge a bond that not even her insane family can break. The second in the story is Weathering the Storm where their story continues. Then breaking the Eye Wall which they finally find the end of their nightmare together. WEathering the storm is already on goodnovel and Breaking the eye wall will be released in November of 2020.

I wouldn’t want to live it, of course, but it’s fun to imagine how bad things could get, and how good people would function in the aftermath. In this book, I also explored a bit how harsh times make even good people do some questionable things. Can you forgive a good character if he (or she) does something morally ambiguous for the ones they love? I like complex characters and questions like that. I hope I gave a modicum of competency to exploring the idea.
