Forbidden Mate- A Step-brother Romance Novels & Stories

I’d been polite and distant, calling Dominic my stepbrother because that’s what he was on paper. But Soso knew better. The moment our eyes met at that first family dinner, I’d felt it, the snap of recognition, the pull of destiny, the absolute certainty that this man was mine. Fated mates. The rarest, most precious gift the Moon Goddess could bestow, and she’d given him to me. My stepbrother. My mother’s fiancé’s son. A man already engaged to someone else. The cruelest joke in the world.

One of his hands wrapped around the waist of his soulmate, and he had a bright smile on his face as they both walked side by side, chatting. It was wrong for me to eavesdrop on their conversation, but I did so anyway. "My mom is going to treasure you," I heard Tate tell her. "I hope so," she retorted; her voice sounded worried. "She will as much as I do," he paused, allowing her to as well, and then they kissed. I immediately moved from the window as sadness covered my heart. His soulmate is a beautiful, blonde-haired wolf shifter. I begrudged my brother that all went well for him for his first mating season, unlike me, who was cursed to be with a human.

“I’m not. You—my mother’s your mate.” What has he done? He doesn't even flinch, he doesn't deny that fact. Instead he just watches me as he keeps moving until he's at the edge of the bed, then he climbs on slowly, and the patience he has is like a predator who knows that surrender is coming soon. “She was never my mate,” he says, crawling forward until his body hovers just above mine. “Not by blood, not by scent and note by fate. She was a contract, a forced bond and mate. You are fate.”

"Does Marcus feel the same?" "He did. But last night, he said we should end it." "Good. Then it's over." "It's not over! I love him, and he loves me, and—" "Love?" Mom's laugh was bitter. "Aria, you're twenty years old. You don't know what love is. This is just... proximity. Forbidden attraction. Teenage rebellion." "I'm not a teenager!" "Then stop acting like one!" She was shouting now. "Do you have any idea what this would do to our family? To Richard and me? We've built something here, something good, and you're willing to destroy it for what? A crush on your stepbrother?"

I recalled that night in the woods; any human might have been disconnected from the bond with Eric, but what about the one with those rogues? That one rogue who defiled me… there was no way I would forget that afternoon. My wolf had been imprinted by another. “Yes, it’s not possible. I was…” I trailed off. Emilia was tugging harder, not wanting to give up. Why is she causing a scene in my head? Why is she feeling things she ought not to feel? “My wolf has been marked by another, and thus I can’t recognize my mate since the bond has been tethered. So this—” I stretched out my hands, “can’t be possible,” I completed my words.

She got to visit some fun places in the park, and I was her tour guide, showing her around. After the wire ride, my heart has been beating really fast, and I suddenly can’t look at her face because I guess I’m falling for her already. My wolf is making this whole thing a lot harder than it already is. Even though we are fated to be with each other, it still doesn’t feel right because we are supposed to act as siblings now. I realized it would be better if I started making it obvious to her that nothing is ever going to happen between both of us because we are never going to accept the mate bond.

Isn't it wrong to have feelings for someone who is not your mate and even worse to have feelings for your brother? In the past, I did a mistake by choosing Charles as my mate. But it seems I'm repeating the same mistake of having forbidden feelings for my brother. What the hell am I doing? My main purpose is to take my revenge. And then looking for my fated mate. I can't find my fated mate until Charles and my bond is broken. I don't have time for my puppy love. I have to execute my revenge as soon as possible. Then I have to look for my fated mate.

"Moon goddess... it was just a dream." Part relief, part dread. Dream or not, I knew what it meant. My guilt against killing me—worsened by the forbidden mate bond twisting inside my omega heart. I recalled that I had chickened out last night. I told Selene that I was just worried that my history of stripping might tarnish her reputation and the family’s reputation if I ever become associated with them. She laughed lightly and said to forget about it. Said she has enough money to buy me all the respect in the world.

His eyes darkened with apology. Fear pricked me, sharp as needles. But I forced a smile. “It’s okay. Just promise me one thing.” His hand brushed mine. “What is it?” “Take care of yourself.” The stars shimmered above us, silent witnesses. He lifted my hand to his lips, kissing the back gently. “I will. I love you.” My chest ached as I whispered back, “I love you too.” But in my heart, I knew the truth neither of us dared to say aloud: when our mates came, this love would not last. The bond of mates was stronger than choice. Stronger than love. We had promised to let each other go when that day arrived. I prayed it wouldn’t come.

I demand, my voice edged with impatience and curiosity, hoping to cut through her distraction. She nods quickly, a nervous smile flickering on her face. "I'm sorry, I keep getting sidetracked!" she laughs awkwardly, stepping back to approach me again. Her eyes dart around the room before she turns to face me with a penetrating gaze. "You will be required to join your mate and his step-sister for the mate hunt," she adds, her tone matter-of-fact but tinged with underlying excitement. The words hit me like a tidal wave, knocking the air out of my lungs and stealing my breath. W-what?
