The Hybrid
I watch Grumpy, his facial expression shifts from confusion to anger as he tries to get off the ground, but he makes no progress except a simple twitch of his fingers.
For a second, I feel concerned for him, but I slap myself mentally. His inability to move is probably the only reason I am still alive right now. Without taking my eyes off him, I move to the end of the room and pick up my makeshift weapon. My fingers tighten around the rough wood as I stalk forward.
He looks up, his eyes trailing my movement, but I ignore his bored, almost amused expression
“Is that what you plan on using to harm me?” There is a mocking tilt to his tone, and this only spikes my anger.
