Gwen's POV I smooth my hands over the fabric of my dress, a deep purple and shimmering as a diamond. The skirt flares up at the bottom in a sweeping train. It's sleeveless, just enough to be comfortable but still show off my slender figure. My chest is completely exposed, a small round silver pendant dangles from my neck, and I swear, I love how feminine it looks against me. My lips curl into an impish smile when I remember wearing it first. It was my first night with Alpha Ace, including our family and other packs.

My lips parted but no sound came out. Gwen took one calm step closer, her gaze locked on mine like she was pinning me in place. “That’s for stabbing me in the back,” she said quietly. He is by my side by the time everyone stands and bows to greet. I don’t take his hand when he offers it as he usually does when we take our thrones.
