Inside was as sizzling as a car left under the sun for hours. Bodies were arranged on the bare floor, side by side on a row; all naked as God created them both men and women. Some were dried and pale looking, those of them have been there for over a year. The recently deceased ones were still fresh looking but now dark and swollen. Close to the door, Amuwa tapped one of the male bodies and said "What are you doing here? This is not where I left you yesterday?"

'The obliviousness of the night is as atrocious as the hour. “So, what do you intend to tell me? That I am a prawn for your non-executed affairs into this human forsaken island.” “I'd like to eat some of those. It's Halloween, lusting after sea food might not be as beneficial as clawing my nails into your skin and drinking every drop of blood from you.” The Ghost humored. “I won't be surprised if you actually do that?” Matt confirmed.

Hair, long and filthy, braided so tight it made their faces even more horrifying. From their ears hung thick black hoops. From their wrists and ankles, blue bracelets with gold incriptions glowed faintly. Adem’s voice shook. “What the hell are those things—” “Ghouls,” Aziz spat. “Cursed forever for eating human flesh. Don’t wait. Kill them before they reach you!” “They don’t actually… eat people?.” I said in disbelief. I waited for someone to correct me. When no body did, my stomach dropped.

I saw Eric as three of the beings tackled him to the ground and I concentrated on them first. “Brenna,” I said as I locked eyes with one of them and I felt the cold dread in my soul. His eyes were lifeless and black, his skin was pale like a corpse that had been dead for some time. His nails were long and he had fangs instead of teeth. ‘Watch out for their bite, that’s how they fight,’ I said in everyone’s heads. ‘What are they?’ Slade asked. ‘Ghouls,’ I said. We were on the attack and I saw the ghouls go down easily but to my utter shock they stood up again after a few minutes of being killed. The only ones that remained dead were the ones I had burned.

Her men swarmed my elderly father and hanged him alive—right there, in front of my grave. Despair and regret swallowed me whole. I screamed, I sobbed, I begged her to let him go. But as my father's body swung lifelessly, Adeline's smile only grew colder. "Now it's his sister's turn." At that moment, her face was twisted and grotesque, like a demon that had crawled straight out of hell.

Chapter 35 Aurora’s POV I kept dragging my feet behind him, every step heavier than the last. “Seriously,” I huffed, “how much longer? My legs are about to give up.” He slowed just enough to glance back at me, eyes narrowing. “You’re too weak,” he said flatly. “Werewolves aren’t weak. I didn’t think a half-human, half-werewolf could be this fragile.” I stopped dead in my tracks, glaring. “Excuse me? I wouldn’t be this weak if I had actually eaten dinner last night—or, you know, breakfast this morning.” My stomach growled right on cue, and I threw my hands up. “See?”.

He nodded slowly, then laid the tile down next to the others. I looked at it. My unease grew, because it looked like a bullfrog crossed with a man. Oddly enough, it looked like . . . The creature from the Black Lagoon. “The ‘Other’ is Chiao, the Water Demon. According to legend he capsized boats, devoured men, and ravished women. He was . . . different from the Sacred Four.” I cleared my suddenly dry and tight throat. “How?” Mr. Trung tipped his head. “The Four exact a price for attempting to reach the Gateway, but they are sacred, honorable, bearing your essence away to be judged accordingly. Chiao is an Abomination. It consumes your very essence, making you part of it for all eternity.”

She managed to find her name, and thanks to Raphael she was able to attend university with her, Rebecca thought she was just a friend who wanted to be friends, but how deeply she was fooled indeed. "So can I turn someone?" She asked the question into the car. "Ye-s you can, before the bi-te you prick your tongue, allowing your b-lood to enter his veins" Jane answered. "And if I drink him dry? Can I still turn him then?" "Yes bu-t he will be a g-houl, not a vampire" "A ghoul?" "Basically a decaying corpse, only half the strength of a vampire but but in return dead loyal to the one who bit him" Duke said.

“They are following us. Both of them are following us....We're weaponless....and running nowhere.” Ezekiel glanced back getting a quick glimpse of two Ghouls loping after them at break neck speed. One of the Ghouls, the largest, nearly seven feet tall, had skin the color of dead leaves, and heavy thick claws and fangs that were so over developed that some talons curled and some of the fangs shot strait up through its own snout.

She can still see the outside gate since the manor is big and tall. The street is bright and because of the light, she saw a very tall figure emerging from the forest. The figure is like a slender man. The light from the fire gave a proper view of the image. The ghoul is around 2 meters tall, a shape of a man, bald with no face. The hands are like hard stakes similar to their legs. The mouth is big and it shows a lot of sharp teeth. It growled again. Delorah felt fear and she closes the curtain immediately. If the ghouls are smart, they can just easily jump the fire fence and attack the manor. Fortunately, they are not that intelligent to think about that.
