It's funny, because now I can't watch anything from the series without Damien coming to mind. A small smile forms on my lips as my eyes fall on the table beside me where I have the magic wand he gave me as a gift. Despite what happened, I just hope he's doing better. After several minutes, knocks on my apartment door snap me out of my thoughts, and remembering the food I ordered, I get up from the couch and grab the money from my bag to pay.

"What more could you possibly want? Aren't you strong enough already? Why are you so obsessed with opening the magic box?" His question was tinged with deep confusion, even a hint of despair. He couldn’t comprehend why this woman, who had already amassed such formidable power, was still fixated on unlocking the magic box, chasing after a force that was shrouded in uncertainty.

He looked at me and calmly said, “More than I’m willing to admit. It’s been thirty years, Emma. Do the math.” I called on my magic to set his face on fire, but… nothing happened. I tried again, but again... nothing. What the fuck is happening? Harry, noticing my face, gripped my hands and removed them from his clothes, saying, “Your magic doesn’t work in this place, Emma. So here, you have no way to threaten me.” I stood looking at the hands in silence. Damn! I looked up and said, “How is that possible?”

And since she skipped out on my dad's funeral, it's unlikely she cares or wants to see me. "I'll stay." I meet his gaze. "One thing, though. Please." He lifts his chin. "Yes?" "Headmaster..." I lick my dry lips. "Someone told me that this school is magic. But that's... it's not possible. Right?" He leans forward, his eyes dancing with excitement. "So many things will become clear to you at Hawthorn, but for now..." He clasps his hands, the gesture making him look even older than he does already.
