She was slowly becoming agitated as Harry kept on staring at her and waiting for a reply. "That was a long time ago, Harry, how would you expect me to remember?" Harry raised an eyebrow, staring at her suspiciously. If there was one thing he was certain about, his little girl would never ever forget her favorite book. She talked about it a lot and it seems she read the book more than fifty times. Harry remembewred the fact that she used to explain the book to him, hook line and synced. Books are oxygen for the literate. For me, there's no other way to breathe. Breathing comes naturally to living organisms. For a nerd with a perfect attendance record and zero friends, air fills my lungs, and words fill my head. I like filling my head with facts, opinions, and fanfiction. The town library looked like a setting from “The Harry potter” movie. There were a lot of old books and creaky wooden chairs. This is the only library in town and not many people pay attention to the library. They get their news from their phones. No one wants to read in the library anymore, maybe just for research.

It is hard to chew it as I try my best to smile innocently at Sky who sighs and pokes my full cheeks, commenting that I look like a chipmunk. “Option one from about two hundred and fifty years ago, the Harry Potter Series.” Lia chimes in, motioning the pile of seven movie sitting on the edge of the coffee table. I laugh, watching as Lia begins to take the first movie – Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone. I movie full of magic and a revolution at the end. Seems fitting to what I am dealing with right now. “What the other option?” Sky asks, wrapping his arm around my shoulder and pressing a kiss on my forehead.

“You know, like in Harry Potter? What Voldemort did.” “Never read it,” I said. Maurice’s mouth fell open, and his glasses slid right down to the tip of his nose. Claire leaned out from his other side. “You never read Harry Potter? Any of them?” “No. Well, I tried the first one. Thought it was long-winded and poorly written.” They were both staring me down. They’d followed my instructions and trusted my judgement when lives were on the line, but now I had gone too far.

"You're not getting any argument from me here." "Good," I said in the same playful, defensive tone.

Sleep eluded me that night. Every time I closed my eyes, his face materialized: those storm-gray eyes, that cruel, beautiful mouth. The way he had looked at me, as if I were something he yearned to shatter, or devour. I struck the thin mattress beneath me. "Stop it," I hissed, my voice a ragged whisper. "He called you a half-blood like it was a disease. He's not your enemy. He's not anything."

I'm reading Harry Potter on the couch, at Ana's insistence. Despite my first impressions of the book, mainly that it seemed geared toward children and not me, Harry Potter is turning out to be a very interesting read. I can't really relate to the main character missing his parents, but I can relate to his dislike for his living family members and his joy at leaving them behind and making new, unexpected friends. Sensing that it must be late, I check the time and see that it's 11:30, much later than Ana is usually out in the living room. I glance over at the table to see her head nodding at the same tempo as the foot-tapping. She is still intent on the Glock. I wonder if she realizes how late

“So what about magical creatures are we learning about today?” She grins at me before dropping a heavy book down in front of me, “History of magic creatures!” I put my face in my hands and groan, Drago chuckles from where he’s found a comfortable spot to watch us, a book in his hand. I raise my eyebrow at him, “Harry Potter?” He gives me a sheepish smile, “Don’t spoil it, I’m only on the Prisoner of Askaban.” I laugh and turn back to Serena. “Alright we’re here so let's begin.”

With the aid of my thumb and my index fingers, I picked out the book, ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I walked to the windows and parted both curtains sideways, giving up space for sunlight and fresh air. I plopped onto my bed, my back against the ceiling and I placed my elbows on a pillow and the book in front of my face, just in place for a nice time with myself and the author. As I read through lines, my eyes brightened with delight and my mind wandered far away into the world of fantasy.
