I Sent My Cheating AI Incubus to the Scrapyard
I stood where I was, cold the whole time, not a word to stop him.
A worker stepped forward, apologetic.
"Ma'am, older AI units develop a willful, paranoid consciousness, which is why they defy their owners. We can replace him with a next-gen model, free of charge."
I rubbed at my throbbing brow, weary.
"No need. I've stopped expecting anything from these machines."
The worker looked at me, guilt flickering across his face, and kept bowing.
"I'm truly sorry, ma'am. Our product gave you a terrible experience. But I promise, the new model has built-in restraints, with no agenda and no paranoia, and if anything's off, one remote tap locks and destroys it. It stays fully controllable."
