CHAPTER FIVE LUCKY. That's how everyone describes her. At some point, she highly agrees, just like now. She's indeed a lucky one. She just received an invitation to meet the head of Regal Vixens and Serpents organization or also known as RVS. It is a society incorporated organization in which high profiled bachelors and bachelorettes are exclusively entrants. Regal VS is a most sought after exclusive organization in the world. Unlike any other organization out there who's not legal, there are the total opposites. Though, they are known and legal, the leaders of the said organization remained unknown.

Her heart pounding in her chest, Crystal took a step forward, her eyes still fixed on the screen. She stood there in shock, unable to move or speak. Her mind raced with questions and doubts, and her heart felt like it had been ripped apart. She couldn't believe what she had just seen. The images burned into her mind, causing her chest to tighten and her eyes to fill with tears,

"That's the heartbeat. The baby's heart. You're in the eighth week. It's stable, strong. And it's there. Inside you." Sloane fell silent. She stared at the ceiling, at nothing, but the sound filled the room. Thump-thump. Thump-thump. It couldn't be unheard. It couldn't be unfelt. Lennox leaned over her. With his other hand, he touched her stomach, right where the sound came from, and as if he wanted to hear it more closely, he leaned in even further. Tears welled up in Sloane's eyes. Her lips trembled. For a while, she couldn't speak, only a broken, whisper of a voice escaped her:

A smile oozing with derision and venom. As I picked up the papers, all covered in Christopher's shoe marks, my mechanical heart was trembling faster than ever. It should not be trembling like this. My pupils were starting to dilate, and the couple that was leaving me behind became nothing but blurry circles. … A long, long time later, I wiped the blood off the corner of my mouth. As I stared at the papers that read 'artificial heart transplant,' my fingers brushed across the scar on my chest. The one that'd been there for seven years.

LENA’s (LUNA’s POV) “Then do not try to hold back, Lena.. Give it all up.” He whispered in my ear and our breathing got deeper and deeper, his face was so close to mine that we stared into each other’s souls. “Lena! It's time to go.” Vee screamed from outside my room, Maverick lifted his head, and I closed my eyes. ‘Thank God for that call back to life, fuck I was..’

And more importantly, what else was he concealing about her father? She hung up, her heart pounding with a mixture of anger and anticipation. Vincent’s words replayed in her mind— “You never know who might be watching”—the veiled threat wasn’t lost on her. Her gaze fell to the scar below her collarbone, which burned faintly, as if reminding her of the cost of misplaced trust. If Vincent had betrayed her… if he had used her father, twisted him into something unrecognizable, she wouldn’t hesitate to end him. No matter what they’d shared.

Both of our eyes met his and his glee was crazed. “Yes! Did you know that the key to vampires ability of immortality actually lies within our hearts? The venom coats the inside of our hearts and it pumps through our entire body, coating everything in that venom. That’s what stops us from aging, stops us from dying. It all starts from the heart.” That same heart felt like it was sinking into the pit of my stomach. Hector’s grip on me tighter and I felt the slight shake in his grasp.

"I don't know you, I don't trust you, and I'm not going to sell myself to some billionaire who thinks he can buy people the way he buys companies." She made to close the door. "Your father didn't die of a heart attack." Her hand froze. Kieran Locke's voice was low, and factual, as if he were discussing the weather. "Victor Delacroix's death certificate clearly states 'myocardial infarction.' However, his medical records-those not released to the official files- tell a different story. He was poisoned. Slowly, methodically. Over a matter of months. And the individuals responsible are currently searching for what he left behind."
